Bishamon Katana was hand honed samurai sword. Razor sharp edge. It is definitely good collection for beginner to begin with.

Its very nice!! The blade is solid
This is the first review I have done... I have been collecting swords for a while and haven't gotten one of these yet. I do have a custom made sword coming and I thought that based on the current reviews I'd buy this to see what I might expect. Its very nice!! The blade is solid, sharp, and easy on the eyes.. haha. Everything is the way it looks.. there was no flaws in the one I recieved. My ONLY complaint, and its a very small one.... The balance is off. However.. as a fun and decorative sword. Its spot on. WELL worth the money.

its a decent katana for looks
The katana you receive is dull cant even cut paper. Im gunna try to use my new wet stone on it. US Grit # 400/1000.description said it could be used for mat cutting but if you wanna get it that sharp you have to buy a whole set of wet stones. Doable but then again the handle is glued might not be the best idea. I mean you could get it razor sharp and cut a mat or you could get it razor sharp and get your self killed trying to cut a mat. If any thing it inspires me to buy a blank blade Damascus and make it my self using this as a blue print.

Ok for the price
For the price, it’s ok; I recently bought a $150 dollar katana from Siwode and have come to expect excellent quality in any katana I buy, no matter the price. I wouldn’t even call this a katana because katanas are known for being the highest of high quality blades. I received this katana for my birthday, and the first thing I did was the paper test. This katana failed miserably, so my thought are that this sword is 100% factory made and not sharpened well at all. I question the steel used in this as I believe it is stainless steel, the worst type for a katana. It is good for looks, but if you are looking for a high quality katana for a low price; look elsewhere! Update: I decided to try and use it on a harder target than the underbrush I’d been using it for, and the blade snapped in half, with almost no damage having been done to the 1 1/2 inch tree! Disappointed with this product; I’m returning this and never asking for it or anything else from this company again!

Great sword for Beginners
Beautiful beginner sword!!! Just about as sharp as a semi worn kitchen knife. I’m happy with my purchase.
