Derwent Academy Colouring Pencils Tin (Set Of 12), Black, Black

Yeah the colour pencils are brilliant but not too bright

It is a very nice pencil, with a matt texture........that helps to make strong gripping and good finishing. The colours are highly pigmented specially on thick paper (100gsm). I am a a student and bought it for practical purpose and it really works well. Though for an artist I think it's a really good pencil to go for, at this cheap rate. It also favours pen mark over the colour,,, as most of the other brand colour smudges off the pen ink mark from it. But it doesn't smudges. I am unable to tell about the blending of the colour, as I've not tested that. Overall it is really nice 👍🏻

My daughter is into colouring and she loves this set. The shading looks much more realistic with these colours. Little expensive but worth the price

Pencil built quality is good but they should have give white pencil in-box for blending

As u can see there was a slight damage on the tin box , but due to mo damage to colour pencil , I didn't return cause it takes too much time to replace

After much pondering between Staedler, Faber Castell and Derwent I ended up buying Derwent not only because of the brand quality and the reviews but also because I have used Staedler and Faber Castell before and I wanted to try Derwent. These are definitely a beautiful set of colours. I still cannot really choose between the 3 as I think they are all equally good and I use all of them depending on my mood and the art I'm working on. But don't let that stop you from going ahead and buying Dewent. As you can see from the attached photos, the colours are bright and soft at the same time. They layer and blend perfectly well and the pencils are smooth and buttery . I went for the set of 36 and I'm glad I did since the colours included are beautiful. Also, price wise they are very reasonable as compared to Faber Castell Polychromos. Also, unlike some brands where the nibs are soft and fall off, I have not faced such issue with Derwent. Please don't think twice, go ahead and try these.

Gostei da lata, da paleta de tons, de ser um produto econômico, bonito e robusto. Mas o lápis me decepcionou porque não são fáceis de misturar nem colorem com intensidade, talvez por ser uma linha mais para o público amador, para quem está aprendendo. Em qualidade de pintura, ficou a desejar.

Unfortunately I should have took caution with a previous posted review of the product. These pencils are just unusable. Pigment is poor, dry, brittle and the wood pencil casing is ready to split upon light pressure. Do not buy the Derwent Academy line of pencils. You will begin with a broken heart. I am upset with the product not the seller. The seller did fine in sending the described item. The product is awful sorry to say. It is better for colorists to stick with the other Derwent lines for more professional results. So sad I couldn't use these pencils.
