Essential Gear 5 in 1 Survival Tool

Received very quickly, as described, for a great price! Only issue is that the whistle is either weak or broken, I'm not completely sure. This is why i'm giving it a 4 star rating. I have another whistle that is ear-piercing so this is not a big deal to me! Otherwise its great for the other features!

Exactly as described. This is a very useful product for emergency situations. Bright orange body, great whistle, great compass, and great storage for many matches.--has a lanyard too for easy access.

These were OK, several functions in one case. They took some time to arrive but it was Christmas time. They are for my sons and they have not used them yet.

My husband got this for in case of an emergency. Oddly enough it doesn't come with the matches as shown in the picture. Regardless, it's pretty handy.

I arrived this item in perfect condition and shipping wasn't bad; however, the product itself is pretty cheap and flimsy feeling.Whistle- seems ok I was inside so I didn't test it out fullyMirror-like another reviewer said, it is very deep in the collar so I dont think it will be too effective, although it is better than nothing.Flint-very small, much smaller than I expected. Basically maybe .5 millimeter wide and 5cm long. Like I said it is extremely small. Also if you use the back of your knife to strike it, you end up hitting the plastic at the end. After only a few strikes (and I was trying to take care not to hit the plastic) the plastic was already getting pretty banged up.Waterproof section- has a o-ring an seems water resistant enough, It does have more space than I thought it would thoughCompass- gets stuck and must be tapped many times for it to find north. Like the other reviewer said, I would NOT trust this compass with my life. I really would only use it as a back up for my back up compass.The string is attached through what appears to be an extremely fragile port, so I would not trust it to hang up the tool.Overall, I would not recommend this tool to other buyers. I would recommend making yourself a small kit with the 5 items on this tool in it.

This tool has it all in a small package. Whistle, mirror inside the lid, compass, fire starter, compartment for matches. This will be great camping or hunting. Can hang around your neck...only issue is the plastic clip that keeps the two strings together seems a little weak. I would probably carry it in my tactical vest or pocket...kind big for your pants pocket...but you could do it.

Whistle: 1Jammed as soon as blew on it. The pea inside may be too large.Compass: 1Wouldn't turn freely. Does eventually find magnetic north but had to tap on it to get it turn to a known mag north direction. In a situation where not sure which direction is which, wouldn't ever be sure with this compass when it's pointing to mag north.Ferro strip: 3It may be okay, but didn't try it as intend to return this unit. So gave it a 3 to be fair.Mirror: 2Too far down in the collar to be effective as a signalling mirror. Designers of these types of equipment need to realize that the farther down a mirror is the less light can get to it to be reflected.Compartment: 4Lots of room for various items, including even a small Swiss Army Knife. Rubber seal seems could keep contents dry from a dip in the water, or being out in the rain.Overall average: 2 - for the one I received. Others may have received one with higher quality, but this time I didn't. Still have to say the large majority of items I've bought from the Amazon Prime sections have been satisfactory.

This is a great add-on item to throw in your camping gear or bug out bag. It isn't fancy, but it will do the job when the zombies come.
