Absolutely beautiful book
Written to celebrate a jubilee birthday of the Aga Khan, I was definitely intrigued by the description of early Christian sects. Issa may have been a major prophet, but his followers squabbled as much as the followers of the prophet. The illustrations are glorious . . . it is definitely a coffee table book . . . and show the ways in which Islamic art adapts to indigenous arts wherever it goes. It's an antidote to those who only see "truth" in one way . . . beautiful things show us that there are many ways to see "truth".
