Anna Maria's Needleworks Notebook

Colorful and Inspiring
I love Anna Maria's other book and her fabrics. I'm not sure that this needlework book is for me. That is not Anna Maria's fault, it's just not what I would probably choose. The colors in this book are great and it is full of eye candy. For me it is a fun coffee table or inspirational book, but, probably not a project book for me. Therefore, I cannot speak to how easy it was to use the patterns or complete the projects and such.

Another Great Book by Anna Maria Hoerner!
This is one of Anna Maria's nicest books outlining hand sewn needlework projects! There are a number a very cute projects for all levels of crewel and embroidery enthusiasts. I must say also that this book has parts written in a personal journal style where as a reader you get to look into the personal life and background of Anna Maria's life and how her family and her Mother have been instruments to her success as a textile artist. That obviously inspired Me! Great Book and a great addition to your personal craft/sewing/embroidery/crewel library.

Pretty book, useful ideas
It is a pretty book with some unique projects. One I started right away. It was very dusty when I got it, but it cleaned up fine- did make me think of warehouses and rats, but I moved on. It was a good purchase.

Meh
I bought for cross stitch patterns but it only had one and the pattern was very difficult to read and no color numbers.

Finally, something different
It is so refreshing to find a contemporary stitching book that uses bright colors. The only reason I did not give this book a five is because I am primarily a cross stitcher and several different techniques were used. Cross stitch, needlepoint, crewel and embroidery. A lovely book that is at the top of my "to do" pile.

Gorgeous, inspiring book
Such a beautiful book! I feel completely inspired with this book; she makes all forms of needlework seem so approachable and possible, even for beginners. The patterns are ones I will actually use. She includes notes and suggestions for each project, but also leaves plenty of room for interpretation and improvisation. I love her philosophy that not all handcrafts have to be practical, useful items...some things are just meant to be pretty to look at, period. Get this book, you won't regret it!

great book
I love this book. This is great for any needlepoint stitcher if you want to learn how to paint and stitch your own canvas.

Great Tutoria
i thought this book was very inspirational. Anna Maria has a very easy way about her and her instuctions are spot on. I love the way the book is set in sections and each section is well set out. The photographs are lovely and I can highy recommend this book

Good overview of needle work
This book gives a good and concise overview of the common needlework methods.I especially liked some projects in the book due to their modern feel, such as the clutch bag and some of the floral embroidery designs.Overall, if you require a book that gives you an idea of various types of needlework this is great. If you need something more in depth I would recommend a book on one type of needlework. It is as the title states a "Notebook" for quick reference purposes, for an introduction to needlework or for inspiration for new projects.

Not what I was expecting at all
Not what I was hoping for at all I’m sorry to say. I wanted patterns for the beautiful cushions that this lady makes but this is sadly full of outdated items. If I had been able to see inside I would never have purchased it.
