Darco SlimLine Cast Boot – Medium – Fits Women’s 8–9 / Men’s 7–8 – Universal Left/Right Cast Shoe

I got this for protection of the cast and later the splint after I broke my ankle and the resulting surgery. It provided firm support of the splint as it wasn't as heavy as the cast was and I was afraid that it could snap if pressure was applied to it. It is pretty durable, the material is thick and the straps hold well. Walking in it was easy also. I originally ordered the large but had to return it and get the extra large. I would recommend the extra large if you are an adult in order to ensure it fits. I didn't have a lot of bandaging on the splint or the cast and the large just wasn't enough. I would definitely recommend this cast boot, especially if you're like me and live alone and still have to carry on your every day activities. It enabled me to even work outside and protected the cast/splint while doing so.

Nice light weight and height of heal works well with a regular shoe on the other foot. Straight on, so works for either foot, but mine was left. Because its a 8-9 a tad long and I caught it on the ground stepping ,so you really have to focus on walking heal toe. Mine was for sprained ankle. Again empasize its not heavy to lift. Good value. Velcro durable. easy to use and get off and on.

I recently had some surgery through the VA, and was in a cast for six weeks; told to not stand on or try walking on the left ankle after surgery, I used a Knee Walker (scooter) also issued by the VA to get around on (much better and more accessible than a wheelchair) getting out and around. Near the end of the three weeks, the surgeon changed my cast, took out most of the staples and said I was healing well, warned me not to overdo anything still. A week or so later, I was feeling pretty spunky and felt I could bear some of the weight on the ankle without harm, so I ordered this cast boot to help me protect the cast and allow me to use a walking cane to help keep most of the weight off the ankle, very happy to say that after two more weeks the surgeon took out the rest of the staples and than the cast off completely; and declared I could then advance to using a walking boot, for a couple of weeks and than graduate to normal shoes if I watched how I walked and not to twist but step when changing direction (less torque on the ankle) . This boot helped me greatly in that transition time, and am happy to recommend it.

Bought this cast and another cast boot. Despite the listings having different pictures of different Darco models, the exact same boot was delivered, but this one was $3 more expensive and makes noise with every step. Find the $19 one and save yourself some money and avoid the squeaking. Overall, better than what was offered by my doctor’s office though.

As anyone with diabetes knows, the right shoe can prevent a trip to the hospital. These cast boots work great with charcot feet. The sole is solid and the velcro fasteners hold the shoe securely. Two or three pair of diabetic socks for cushioning protect the foot and allow for walking without the fear of blisters. The upper velcro above the ankle are what cause these to protect the foot so securely. There is little to no slippage. There are three velcro closings. If regular shoes are not an option, and with diabetics that is sometimes the case, these work great. I am sure they would work fine with a cast as well, because they can be as roomy as needed by securing the velcro to the needed width. The straps are long enough to accommodate a charcot foot or a badly swollen foot. The person who I bought these for has had several pair of custom diabetic shoes made, but none of them work as well as these.

This was the best boot to wear when you're off the Doctors walking boot. But still want to protect your foot and have a base that doesn't bend like your shoes.. Best if you have torn a ligament in foot or ankle and still need stability but need to not flex your foot when walking.

This boot actually made my foot and ankle pain worse than when I was just wrapping it with an ace bandage and not wearing the boot. I was very disappointed in this product. It is not supportive at all and does absolutely nothing for the ankle. I was surprised in the workmanship of this product because I have the same brand of post-op shoe and it is wonderful. Would not recommend. I returned mine and got a refund.

I was trying to transition to a lighter smaller boot but this boot does not offer any support all the weight still goes on your foot like if you had a normal sandal on so it does not work if you actually need ankle support might be good or you have an issue only with your toes.

I needed to mobilize one of my toes. This boot did the trick very well. Good Quality.
