What I didn't realize
Was so excited to find a wood bit that I could with SDS didn't notice how short these are. No issues usually drilling a 3 inch deep hole in wood on a jobsite. A small auger will do that. Was looking for heavy duty wood bits longer and half inch or bigger diameter. Appears they don't make them.

Be prepared to drill holes with sharp bits.
I was only able to drill one hole in the steel I-beam of my roofing, because the drill bit became blunt
