ARTERIAL BLOOD GASES MADE EASY 2ED (IE) (HB 2016)

Perfect for beginners
This is an awesome book for understanding the basics of ABG. Few chapters in the beginning explain respiratory physiology and respiratory failure and there are plenty of cases which help a good understanding of the ABG interpretation. There are no problems which require calculating the compensation (winter's formula) or delta-delta gap, but this book covers the basics very well.Ideal for UG and PG medical students, interns, ICU staff and physicians who want a quick review.

A SIMPLE, BUT EFFECTIVE BOOK
A simple book, for those who are learning ABG for the first time OR has only very minimal knowledge about it. Not for an anesthesiologist, who already interprets a good number of ABGs everyday, but want to add more information into his database.

Four Stars
Useful book but a bit basic for people who are using ABGs on a regular basis.

Very Easy.
This is not a book just on blood gasses,it goes a long way to explain the pathophysiology behind the results.Blood gas interpretation is one of the things people always say is not easy ,but this book has actually simplified it even for a novice to understand.A must have.

Great Book.
This book is nothing less than excellent. It provides a great review of pulmonary as exchange, acid-base status, and ABG analysis. It provides many useful algorithms when reviewing ABGs. To finish, there are several case studies to help reinforce what this book teaches you. As an added benefit, it can be read quickly.

Arterial Blood Gases MADE EAST
I purchased this book to use as a teaching tool for my Respiratory Therapy Students and found it easy to understand and concise. It wil make an excellant addition to my educational books that cost way more than I paid for this one.

Useful for learning or refreshing - values in kPa and mmHg
Useful book if new to blood gases, or if after a refresher and cases to interpret. The book comprises two main parts. The first part is 56 pages of theory with chapter titles such as: pulmonary gas exchange, disorders of gas exchange, acid-base balance, ABG sampling technique, common values and making ABG interpretation easy (suggested method of blood gas interpretation in flow chart form). These chapters contain the bare essential theory needed for understanding blood gases and are fairly easy reading, although I would suggest not a replacement for actual physiology and/or biochemistry texts for the deeper understanding needed in a medical degree or making decisions in a critical care setting. The second part has 25 cases to solve, each split into clinical information on one page and blood gas data and questions on a facing page. Answers with explanations are at the back. For experienced clinicians, the clinical information alone may give the answers away as some of the histories are classical, so it may be worth interpreting the data first for more of a challenge.

This is a very easily read and understandable book
This is a very easily read and understandable book, I've been an ITU Nurse for 11 1/2 years and this is a great help when teaching students.
