Yes this can be adjusted.
If you flip either of the balls upside down you can pull on the knotted string to make it shorter. The recommended way is to do each and tie them together. These are the best quality I’ve been able to find outside of Hong Kong.

Received this tassel for my Tai Chi sword- (needed to change the color on my current sword). When I received it the individual strands were really spaced out and the color wasn’t a deep black. The beads on it were clear orange and it really looked kinda’ old..

Really nicely made, high quality
I am happy with these tassels, they are really nice quality and because each strand is twisted from 2 strands and there are no open bottoms, I can tell it won't start to fray easily. I hope these will last me a long time!
