"The Song of the Lark" Not Good For Much Except Putting You To Sleep
I read Cathers' "O Pioneers," which I enjoyed, and then "One of Ours," which I thought was one of the best books on World War I that I've ever read. But "The Song of the Lark" was a disappointment. The tale of a young woman from Colorado and her quest to become an opera singer at the turn of the 20th Century just did nothing for me. It was, in a word, dull. While some of the writing is good, the plot just drags. I don't recommend it except as a cure for insomnia.

Through the artful recounting of the important relationships and experiences that permitted a young girl from a small town in the American West to evolve into a great opera singer, the reader is transported to another time and place through lyrical language and a timeless account of the rewards of grit and determination .

Boring unless you are an Artist
This book is made only for people who are artists and really love all forms of Art. If you dont, this will bore you to death.
