A lot of helical twist
Would not work for my crossbow. To much helical. Vanes rub on the rail. I had to purchase straight offset arms and install them before I got this to work. NOW itโs great

MAKE CUSTOM BOLTS EASILY WITH THIS TOOL!
I HAVE NEVER FLETCHED ARROWS OR BOLTS BEFORE THIS ARCHERY SEASON, AND THIS YEAR I REALLY WANTED TO DO IT. THIS FLETCHING TOOL ACCEPTS THE NOCK TO YOUR BOLT, SO THAT YOU DONT HAVE TO TAKE THE NOCK OUT - WHICH IS EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED DUE TO THE KNOCKS IN MY CARBON BOLTS ARE GLUED IN AND WERE NOT DESIGNED TO BE TAKEN OUT. I ALSO WANTED TO WRAP MY BOLTS FIRST SO THEY ARE EASIER TO FIND AFTER THE SHOT, AND USE A BLAZER VANE WITH A 3 DEGREE HELICAL INSTEAD OF THE FACTORY FOUR INCH VANES THAT ARE SLIGHTLY OFFSET. I AM SHOOTING A MISSION MXB-360, AND YOU CAN ONLY USE THEIR BOLTS THAT HAVE ALUMINUM KNOCKS GLUED IN. THE VANES WERE NOT DIFFICULT TO STRIP OFF AND CLEAN, AND THE WRAPS (I USED 4" REFLECTIVE WRAPS) WERE NOT DIFFUCULT TO PUT ON. IN USING THIS TOOL TO FLETCH, FIRST OFF, I MAY BE DOING SOMETHING WRONG, BUT THE DOWN FLETCH FOR TOOL (THE ODD COLORED ONE) IS NOT THE ONE FOR MY BOLTS. NO BIGGIE - I JUST USED A SHARPIE TO MARK THE ONE THAT IS SO I KNOW WHICH SLOT TO PUT THE ODD VANE IN. SECOND, I LEARNED THAT THE NOCK HOLDER INSIDE THE TOOL CAN BE A LITTLE TEMPERMENTAL WHEN PLACING YOUR BOLT IN IT TO GET IT RIGHT. AGAIN, NO BIGGIE, UNLESS YOUR BOLT IS WRAPPED LIKE MINE ARE, AS TURING THE BOLT AROUND INSIDE THE TOOL CAN DAMAGE THE WRAP - SO BE CAREFUL. LASTLY, THE FLETCHING PROCESS, WHICH IS MADE EASY. ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS JUST PLACE YOUR VANES INSIDE THE SLOTS, MAKE SURE THAT THEY ARE INSERTED CORRECTLY, PUT YOUR GLUE ON THEM, CLOSE THE TOOL AND CLAMP IT FROM THE TOP, WAIT ABOUT 15 SECONDS (OR LONGER DEPENDING ON THE TYPE OF GLUE YOU ARE USING), UNCLAMP IT, AND YOUR DONE. THIS IS A FINE TOOL, AND I LIKE IT, AND THE ONLY REASON I DID NOT GIVE IT THE FIFTH STAR IS BECAUSE I DON'T REALLY LIKE THE SPRING ON THE BOTTOM THAT HAS TO BE RELEASED IN ORDER TO BRING THE ARMS UP TO THE BOLT SO IT CAN BE CLAMPED DOWN. HOWEVER THIS IS A GREAT TOOL, AFFORDABLE, AND IF YOU WANT TO HAVE BOLTS THAT WILL FLY STRAIGHTER THAN FACTORY 4" VANES, THAT YOU CAN WRAP SO THEY CAN BE FOUND AFTER YOU SHOOT YOUR DEER, AND CUSTOMIZE YOUR BOLT VANES, THIS IS A GREAT TOOL! I DID MY FIRST HALF DOZEN IN LESS THAN 25 MINUTES, AND AM VERY SATISIFIED WITH IT!

Consistently bad results
I use carbon xpress pile driver bolts fletched with 3 blazer vanes. I have to remove the moon nocks in order to keep from putting the vanes on the nock itself due to the vanes being placed so far back toward the nock end of the shaft. There is no way to center the shaft in the jig while you close the glued vanes onto the shaft. The jig will not place the vanes evenly spaced around the shaft. I have been averaging 1 good fletched bolt out of every four to six in the batch. I have wasted enough vanes trying to get enough bolts to hunt with that I could have fletched the dozen several times over. The ones that turned out satisfactory fly very true, but the cost in wasted vanes and hassle is a bit much. If this is a true representation of the jig, and not a fluke lemon, I would recommend buying something else to fletch your crossbow bolts. I had high hopes for this jig, but it looks like I'll have to find what I'm looking for in a different setup.

Return because
I sent this back but I bought the same brand elsewhere that would take 4'' veins I would suggest that the company put on the main web page that this only uses 2'' veins it would save everyone's time they make both 2'' and up to 4'' why not make it easy for us to decide which one we want to buy and save return fees

It works well.
This works pretty good. It takes two people to hold everything steady during the application, but it does work. I'm a happy customer.

Greatest fletching tool ever invented
Greatest fletching tool ever invented!I had one of the old ones that only did one vane at a time. It took a month of Sundays to do a dozen shafts. Now its about an hour. Great product!
