Bodies from the Bog

The book is great and interesting but it wasn’t the best Christmas gift for my son, whose dog died that morning.

Pretty good book.

It's a great book for general information on bog mummies, but if you are looking for more technical info an the dig itself this book doesn't have that kind of info. It would be a great book for a teacher teaching a class to students at the elementary level. It had interesting facts in it about sphagnum moss and the preservation of the bodies.

A great introduction for the young reader interested in bog bodies. Beautiful, well chosen photographs. For further reading - The Bog People by P.V. Glob and Life and Death of a Druid Prince - The Story of Lindow Man and Archaeological Sensation.

Nice little beginner kind of book for understanding the bog bodies found in Northern Europe.

Mr. Deem has produced a beautiful photo essay on bog bodies. It is also most informative, including some bodies of which I was not aware. His writing is strong and clear.

Bought this for my sister for her birthday.. A little weird but she loved the book. She loves history and all that goes with it. She said it had a lot of interesting stories..

I gave the booklet 5 stars because of the content, but I had already read the article in the National Geo magazine. I thought it would be an expanded feature.

Very interesting book, it is well written and there are lots of pictures. If you are interested in this one, his other one about the people of pompeii, Bodies from the Ash is a must read. This book has information about a few different bodies and the history and hypothesis behind how they may have died. The history and the information seems well researched and very interesting.
