Not to bright, or too dark, light at night. The shade is larger than anticipated so it sits a few inches from the wall on all sides at the base. The cord is covered with material rather than plastic; it should be held taught when screwing the pieces together so that it doesn't twist inside the metal shaft casings, because the on-off switch is a button on the cord that must be stepped on...pressed with the toe...which is nice if the lamp is placed behind a piece of furniture. But, if the cord is not held tight during assembly then the button may be twisted sideways, or upside down, and there will be a need to bend down to turn the light on.

I LOVE this lamp. It came securely packaged and I was shocked at the overall quality. The lamp shade looks amazing in person and stunning lit. The base of the lamp is substantial so as to avoid an accidental tipping. It comes with an extremely flexible and durable fabric-wrapped power cord which feeds through the base through a nicely designed hole. Any excess cord can be easily stored out of sight under the base. I just love the idea of a clean presentation and am impressed with the design. Everyone who has seen the lamp in person has commented how beautiful it is. WELL worth the money.

The glass shade arrived broken. Glass breaks, so perhaps it happened in transit. But, I doubt that. The package clearly rattled with a broken glass sound prior to opening.The surprise was that the HEAVY BASE that the pole screws into was also broken. While the base feels heavy, it must not be metal. It must be some type of composite material.I did not assemble it. It appeared there were also parts missing.I purchased from the warehouse used like new. Nope. The lamp b ox was shipped double bo xed. Damaged.If the lamp had been unbroken, this may have been a 4 or 5 star lamp. The shade is a cream color. I had planned to use an LED flame light bulb in it with a dimmer switch.

I got one of these at a big discount because it was a returned item with damaged packaging. The lamp arrived in perfect condition. Be warned though, it’s packed in a lot of styrofoam and if the foam breaks up in shipping as mine did you will have one godawful mess. It took me an hour to vacuum up all the white bits. But the lamp was very easy to assemble. Is heavy and sturdy like an authentic vintage lamp would be. The shade is hand assembled glass as advertised and looks great for the price. The post is in 3 sections and you’ll want to take care to screw them together so the ribs align so it isn’t obviously a replica of an antique. Love it.

Antique style glass look great . Came with a light bulb as well. Easy to assemble and overall a very nice product...must weigh about 20 pounds - very sturdy and high quality build. A little pricey - but you can buy with confidence if the look suits your needs.

I have same series of a desk lamp and it is more white tone. When I received this item, it looked to yellowish. However it turned to almost same color after turn it on. It's gorgeous!

Lampshade was beautiful but absolutely horrible craftsmanship on the rest of the product. Nothing lined up and the lamp is crooked. Requested a replacement with Amazon because we wanted to try again and they said we could only get a refund and we have to deal with repackaging the item.

This is truly a stunning light, so easy to put together. Stands very elegant.

Love the lamp - sturdy and beautiful, but a little disappointed in how yellow the glass is. The pictures in the ad show it to be more white. Overall happy with my purchase.
