ProAm Autopilot Lite Camera Stabilizer, 5lbs Capacity

I've been using a ProAm camera crane for many years and love it. I was intrigued when I saw this new stabilizer. The cost really doesn't warrant much contemplating, so I got it. I figured it'd be something lightweight enough to keep in my camera bag at all times in case I ever have the urge to go handheld. I wasn't necessarily looking for a high end stabilization system, not that I even have the budget for it.That being said, I was truly surprised at how well it handled motion absorption. Even fast paced walking up and down the stairs on my outdoor deck was dampened considerably. I applied a final stabilization effect in FCPX and it came out a beauty.My experience and advice: Maneuvering was easy enough while holding it. While I hold the handle, I give a light touch to the left support left as I turn to point the camera where I will be going. I definitely don't advise removing the support legs. Not only did they serve me well as sort of a handle, but it was also much easier to balance out the unit with the legs attached. I believe it has to do with weight on opposite sides of the center of gravity.Overall nice simple unit, gives a good amount of stabilization at a great price.

I was looking for a small stabilizer to use for quick projects, but also as a stepping stone into more high quality ones later. It takes out some of the motion for my camera, but even after you practice and get the camera balanced just right, you have to be extremely careful walking around to take out the movement yourself. I don't really use it anymore and just go handheld until I get the system that isn't the Lite version.

Very inexpensive solution for run and gun stabilization. I use the Canon XA20 on it, and it does wonders.

Works as advertised. Would recommend to others!!
