Great Story, Great Condition
This is another one of those books my child refuses to live without. We had rented it from the library for so long until I finally decided to buy it online. It came to us in perfect condition. We read this frequently, and the book has held up. If you love ghouls and ghosts and great storytelling as much as we do, then you'll not want to live without this book either.

Cute but weird
My 5 year old yelled stop halfway through the book! Hahaha. So I think it’s better for 3 year olds. It’s repetitive and kinda silly. Cute cover, nice illustrations.

Fun Spin On A Classic Tale
We've had this book for a couple of years now - the kids are now 6 & 9 and still love it. A spin on the traditional tale "Stone Soup", Bone Soup is full of creatures one would expect to find on Halloween stashing away their apothecary worthy goods as Finnigin rolls into town asking for a bite to eat. Of course Finnigin is a master at deception and convinces the towns creatures to relinquish their treasured ingredients in order to make a big pot of Bone Soup.

Spooky Fun Twist to Stone Soup
I remember reading Stone Soup in elementary school. We even made our “stone soup” in class! What a pleasant surprise to see this wonderful Halloween version! My children love this book. I am so happy to have found a new story to add to our Halloween book collection!

Bone Soup = great book!
Another wonderful book that my 1st graders LOVED! I loved it, too. It's a great story and the illustrations are wonderful. After I read it to my firsties, we made our own bone soup. They had a blast!

A Halloween story with a moral!
I purchased this book because my 3 year old grandson enjoys stories with ghosts and witches. No ghosts in this one, but there is a witch, a beast, some zombies and mummies, to name a few. There is just enough story on each page to hold a little guy's attention. The pictures are not brightly colored, which is in keeping with the Halloween theme, but they are well drawn. I liked the story - complete with a moral. This is a well done children's book. My biggest criteria to receive my approval is that it needs to be enjoyable for an adult to read. If the adults in a child's life don't enjoy it, it won't get read. This one will be read.

Too long
I thought this story was going to be something totally different. It's a bit long for preschool aged children.

Loved it!
Very adorable rendition of 'stone soup' with a goulish flavor. Main character Finnigan manages to win over some of the town folk and enjoy a feast together.
