A wonderful cookbook full of great recipes that one can actually ...
Bravo! A wonderful cookbook full of great recipes that one can actually make, as well as enjoy! Each offering is definitely moorish , as they say in the UK!I heartily agree with the preceding reviews about the book; the beautiful photos, family stories, and the wonderful selection of Italian and British recipes.I bought the book after watching Mr. Tucci on the Dr. Oz show. He was talking about this latest cook book and also about the fact that he has become sensitive to wheat. On the show, Dr. Oz had organized a panel of some audience members who were invited to try Mr. Tucci's Spaghetti Bolognese recipe atop wheat free pasta. They looked a hard core group of confirmed wheat pasta eaters and I was wondering if the wheat free pasta would hold up to their trial. They gobbled it up like candy! So, I was intrigued, as most wheat free products that I have tried are not tasty at all! After ordering the book it turned out that the book is not about being wheat sensitive, but is a celebration of food, in particular Italian and British foods. I was pleasantly surprised as I'm an Amercian woman married to a British man and we live in the UK. I have always wanted to learn how to cook British "staples" such as Sausage Rolls, Yorkshire Pudding, and crispy Roast Potatoes. Well now I can!. The first recipe I tried was the Sausage Roll recipe and it was brilliant! Great taste and easy to make. My husband and I made the Spaghetti Bolognese sauce last night and it was amazing. That sauce will become a staple in our food arsenal.OK, back to the main point about the wheat free conundrum......The Tucci's have a very good "what to buy" section in the book with brand names of items that they use in their recipes, There is a brand of wheat free pasta that they use and I am on the lookout for it here in the UK. I am sure that this product will be great, once I find it, and will compliment the fabulous recipes in the book. This brings me to the "Tiny, I wish they had included" section:Conversion Table of Weights and Measures: US to UK measures: 1 US cup = how many grams of butter, for example. I know, one can always look it up, and I did, but it would've been nice to have it in right there in the book.Table of Contents: It took me a long time to find it, and of course it is located near the front of the book, but it's rather hidden at the top left-hand page that has "The Tucci Table" spelled in flour. A great photo, but it would have been better, in my opinion, if the Table of Contents had been in a larger font, running down the left hand side of that page.Where To Buy: There is a great section of products that the Tucci's use, like the wheat free pasta, It would be nice to know where to find them in the US and UK. I've searched for the pasta and found that it can be purchased from Waitrose in the UK, but they don't carry it at every Waitrose store.....So perhaps a US and UK online source? My suggestions above are in no way to be thought of as a deterrent to purchasing the Tucci Table. Do yourself a favor and get this book! You will have a blast making the recipes on your own or with a loved one, or two, or three.....You won't regret it, promise!

Stanley tucci is simply excellent in this book. His recipes are fantastic and his story telling is a work of art. I purchased this cook book to add to my collection amongst other incredible authors and chefs.

Excellent book
I’m a fairly well versed cook and I’m enjoying this book. Some of the recipes are fairly standard but a lot of them put a twist into the mix and it makes a difference. Mr. Tucci is one of my favorite actors and it’s cool to get an insight of how he cooks with all his experience and heritage. I’ve incorporated some of the techniques into all my cooking and it’s great. Just an enjoyable read and very happy with my purchase.

A personal look into Tucci family recipies
I really enjoyed Stanley Tucci's "Searching for Italy" TV series, and the exploration of different foods and cooking styles across his ancestral homeland: this is NOT the book that accompanies that show! But his passion for food and cooking become evident in that series, and this book is a collection of favorite and family recipes that he enjoys at home. The 220+ pages include several dozen, somewhat eclectic recipes, including salads, soups, appetizers, main courses, and deserts, along with an introduction to what he considers basic kitchen equipment and 'essential' pantry stocks. The descriptions are clear for any experienced cook to follow, along with photographs of some of the finished dishes, family members in the kitchen, and a few of the techniques. Most recipes are covered in a page or two. Newer, or first time cooks should find many of the recipes accessible; others require multiple steps and assume some cooking skill. If you find a few recipes that you enjoy, and add to your table, it is worth the purchase.

Great, one issue
Great recipes, good writing, great pics, terrible binding. The pages are falling out after a week, which is disappointing. But the content is stellar.
