Q: Is the bale big enough to use a thicker chain? Any side view pictures that show the bale?

The current chain is around 1-1.1mm, it will fit a thicker chain.

Q: I love the pendant, I'm not a fan of the chain. I like box or snake chains. Does anyone have any suggestions about what will work?

I wasn’t a fan of the chain either. But once I got it and put it on I love it. Anything more would take away from the pendant. It’s even more beautiful in person.
