As expected

Great surprise for unsuspecting visitors: add a 1-lb bag of mixed berries from TJ or other supplier, cut a little bit short on the sugar so you can add either vanilla sauce (home-made or otherwise) or whipped cream on top. Certainly not too sweet but fruity!Also make sure that you heat up the water PRIOR to mixing in the powder and fruit, otherwise the appearance tends to stay on the grey-side.Enjoy!

This was a dessert that we often had as children. I was glad to still find it 30 years later!

Instructions (in German) on the envelope can be a bit confusing and one must pay attention if one doesn’t make it often.The RG is delicious when it’s smothered with a little vanilla sauce. The tartness of the raspberry flavored Grützecomplemented by the vanilla Sauce and it was spot on. I purchased vanilla pie filling for 65 cents at our Aldi grocery store and used this for my vanilla sauce. Can’t improve on it...This certainly reminds me of what my mother used to make

I volunteer cooking weekly public dinners at my local German Club. Always looking for that "taste of home" to remind folks of their heritage. Having never made Rote Grutze (only tasted it in Germany) I thought the mix would be good insurance if I messed it up. The sauce worked well. Very easy to make, only I substituted fruit juice for the water (cherry) and added fresh and frozen blueberries, strawberries and raspberries. Served over Dr. Oetker vanilla pudding mix (thinned to a custard consistency.) Very well received, would by it again.

Taste is very good with added berries and Vanilla sauce. A quick delicious dessert. Took me back to my childhood in Germany and memories of my Grandmother and Mom!

A little too expensive

I LOVE IT. This is food I grew up with. It is delicious and I will order it again.
