Its the real deal
Pros:This inverter is exactly what the documentation says it is. No "stretching the truth" in this case. The design is really nice, rugged and well built. The DC connectors were designed far enough apart and insulated well so that you would have to go to some trouble to short them out. The documentation provided is well written in English and covers pretty much everything you need to know (including the recommended fuse size and type, wire gauges lengths etc.). I've been testing this inverter off and on and last night I ran a full size upright freezer all night from my camping truck (solar) and an 12 ga extension cord. Part way through the test the fan came on, but it never got more than slightly warm.Cons:From what I can tell, the inverter pulls about .5 amps at idle. This isn't all that bad, but for an application like a freezer its kind of wasteful, since freezers cycle and spend quite a bit of time with the compressor off. That's 12 amp hours or 144 watt hours of overhead you might need to take into account.Other:I'm thinking about hacking the remote (sold separately) to turn the unit off and on with a solenoid triggered by the thermostat on a freezer. If anyone has ever done that or has a better idea, please leave a comment!Regards,Upton O'Good

Great inverter
The inverter install in my tacoma wasn't easy, only due to routing wires through the truck. The inverter worked flawlessly so far. We used it on a 4600mi road trip for the first use. Had my fridge connected the whole time. The low voltage alarm let me know I had disconnected my dual batteries. Great feature! I also got the remote switch which is extremely convenient.

It just works, I didnt read the manual so maybe i missed something.
I didn't like the terminals that came with it, i needed to take a file from a multi tool to carve out the hole to the next size up while i was OTR driving the semitruck. it powers my PC just fine but it does have a high-pitched noise. I'm assuming its from a coil. buy it if you want or find a different one; its your money. I was disappointed in the fact it wasn't made in America -1 star for that alone.

Defective Product - Sent Twice
The first one that was defective was returned and the second replacement also did not work. I think they just resent me the first one.Real nasty trick I am very unhappy with this product so do not deal with this company.

Powerful, Good Quality
This inverter has proven itself to meet the manufacturer's specs. I connected it to a 170AH, 12V lithium battery and was able to run it slightly over it's 2kW rating by using a microwave oven, refrigerator, and heat gun all at once for 10 minutes. I also connected it to my travel trailer and it easily started the air conditioner. I was pretty amazed because my air conditioner requires a little over 3kW to start it but then drops to about 1.9kW continuous. Of course, the inverter is claimed to be able to handle 4kW surges but I was skeptical that it would even handle a 3kW surge after seeing all the complaints about other manufacturer's inverters. I ran the air conditioner for a half hour in 89 degree weather and the inverter fans came on but it just purred along without any complaints. It appears to be very solid and well built. I definitely recommend this WAGAN inverter - even at the $438 price I paid. It's worth the peace of mind.

Well worth the price!
I can't give Wagan engineers credit enough; this inverter is absolutely amazing. Why are there not more glowing reviews; I have no idea! The 2000 Watt rating is an understatement. I've used this to power my entire house for days at 6 hours per day (via safe 'back-feeding' to main circuit-breaker panel from my electric car) with loads occasionally hitting 2200 Watts without quitting! This 'whole-house' back-feed included 2 small window AC units, full size refrigerator, internet/WIFI, TV, Computers, lights, etc. Even used the 1000 Watt microwave with the 2 AC units off temporarily. I used the "AC Current Voltage Amperage Power Energy Panel Meter LCD Digital Display Ammeter Voltmeter Multimeter with Split Core" to monitor the inverter's full output over a single 12 gauge cable connected to it's main terminal block. Just buy it and have peace of mind. Worth the price! This really is pure-sine-wave also, and the included cables are nice and long for the 12V tap; and are not 'starter' cables, these carry the full load! NO I'm not paid, I'm just shocked at how good this is and hardly any reviews at all? I don't like writing reviews at all, but I really believe in this product!
