Garden Lighting - Victorian Style Single Headed Garden Lamp Post 2.2m

This is a good-looking product of superior quality. As an engineer, I was really impressed by the meticulous detail in the product design, and high standard of manufacturing quality. With logical step-by-step assembly and installation it's easy enough to achieve a good finished job, but not suitable for "beginner-level" I'd say. The electrical supply should only be installed by a competent person, and as with any outdoor electrical item the circuit should be protected by an RCD for safety.

When it arrived there was a brokenOn unpacking it one of the glass panes was broken, it was broken by the screw that fixed it to the lamp so it was obviously already broken when it had been packed, it would not have been broken in transit to us. It would have been far more expensive to pack it all up and send back so we cut our losses and had a pane of glass made up at minimal cost. You may need to check the items before you send on to customers as this is not so much a complaint but more an observation for your checking department.

Base cradle rather flimsy for the unit, needed additional bolts and some drilling but aesthetically pleasing and effective.

Great value for money

I had at last (I thought) found a mains powered light for my garden. Delivery on time, but when we unpacked the lamp we were horrified to find that it does NOT come with the required electric cable to connect the lamp to the mains supply!! And I did not see any statement to that effect on Amazon. On reading the instructions it does tell you to purchase the required length of cable from a reputable supplier, even providing the correct details. However, as I am not an electrician I do not wish to even try to wire up the lamp, plus it needs to be cemented in place which I was aware of. Then I contacted a local electrician to see what he may charge to fit the cable and connect the lamp to mains supply in my shed. To my horror his charges are nearly double what I paid for the lamp, and add to that the cost of the cable, plug, bulb etc. I have now decided to return the lamp as it was not sold as ready to use. I accepted some DIY was needed to put it together but this is just not acceptable. Not recommended unless you are an electrician!!

I purchased this via Amazon a year ago and thought I would post a review. The lamp post is wonderful. No signs of wear or corrosion after 12 months out in all weather.I installed an LED lamp fitted with a night time sensor, it comes on at dusk and goes out with the sun.Perfect.Never had any problems and it looks really cool.Highly recommended.

Delivered promptly so great start. On assembly one of the three threaded anchor bolts that secure the base triangle in the concrete setting one does oneself was defective. I phoned them and the response was truly amazingly good. Within a minute the assistant had located my order and promised to get a replacement in the post as quickly as she could. Three new bolts plus screws arrived the very next day.But it does not end there. She emailed on the day the replacements arrived to say that she now thought that I might also need the triangle into which the bolts screwed (I didn't as it happens) so was posting 1st class and hoped everything was alright. The traingle arrived the very next day. I speak as someone who owned and managed high quality service businesses for 40 years. Simply outstanding. My thanks and I salute you.

For the money very impressed. I like the telescopic top section which enables the height to be adjusted.The single head looks a bit out of proportion perhaps I should have gone for the double head.No cable included to connect to the top. Does the job I wanted. Could be better instruction regarding the amount of thread projection needed above the surface of the cement base as the fixing nuts are dome headed.
