Secure Your Cylinders, Protect Your Regulators, and Stay Compliant. The GT-11 Fine Thread Safety Cap is the professional standard for high-pressure gas cylinder protection. Unlike traditional screw-on caps that require you to dismantle your entire rig just to move a tank, the GT-11 is designed for the modern welder and industrial pro who values both safety and efficiency. Why Upgrade to the GT-11 Style Cap? 1. The "Regulator-On" Advantage Stop wasting time unscrewing your regulator every time you need to move a tank or close up shop. The clamshell design allows the regulator to remain attached to the valve even when the cap is closed and locked. This feature alone saves countless hours over the life of the product. 2. Fortress-Level Security Gas regulators are expensive, and unauthorized gas usage adds up. This cap features a dedicated locking hasp. By swapping the standard pin for a padlock, you instantly convert this safety device into a security vaultโpreventing theft of your regulator and stopping untrained personnel from opening the valve. 3. Total Compliance Job site safety inspectors don't cut corners, and neither should you. This cap is engineered to satisfy DOT, OSHA, and MSHA regulations for cylinder valve protection, ensuring you avoid fines and keep your workplace safe. Technical Specifications: Model: GT-11 Style (Fine Thread) Thread Specification: 3-1/8โ Diameter x 11 TPI (Threads Per Inch) Material: Welded Steel Finish: Powder Coated Safety Yellow Compatibility: Oxygen, Argon, Nitrogen, Helium, CO2 (High Pressure Cylinders with Fine Threads) Compatibility Check: Please measure your cylinder neck ring before ordering. Invest in the safety of your team and the longevity of your equipment with the GT-11 Safety Cap. Review: Protection from a fall? Meh - My first thought was who welded this thing up? The fit and welds of the hinges is fairly crude. My second thought was would this really be effective protection for a dropped cylinder? Iโm not willing to bet my (or others) life on it. So if fall protection is questionable, what about theft/vandalism protection? My thought was great, you can leave these on, shut off you gas, and lock them to keep wandering hands away. Well, if you trust a tiny suitcase zipper lock to stop anyone I guess. The hole for the quick pin is too small for any effective lock to be used. The tab is really too small to drill out for a regular ol master lock. Overall, no the clamshell design is gimmicky and needs a lot of improvement. The open, fully welded style cages are much, much better for fall protection in my opinion. With that, this gets an average rating from me. I really wouldnโt recommend it to be honest Review: Keep the regulator on while keeping the tank capped - Let's be honest, once we put the regulator, we don't take it off to cap the tank when moving the cart. I have had a couple of close calls with the cart almost tipping due to moving things in a hurry. I grabbed this cap just to be a little safer around the garage. It's perfect. It fits the tank well and screws on without any issues. It is a heavy-duty cap. Once on, I was able to easily reattach the regulator and close the cap. It closes securely with the pin and is easy to open back up to remove the regulator. Now, is it 100% effective, not if your tank falls and lands on the regulator side but it is certainly way better than having no cap at all. If you want some added peace of mind, I'd grab one of these.

Keep the regulator on while keeping the tank capped

Vastly better than the original
I got this for my argon tank, so I can keep the protective cap on while I weld, just in case the tank decides to lay down on me. I usually keep this tank outdoors for extended periods of time, especially when I am working multiple projects, which as it turns out, made the current cap nearly impossible to remove. Now I have to borrow a wrench from work to get it off. Overall this is a good improvement on the standard safety cap, I like the larger opening for the regulator and the clamshell that allows you to install it and close it back up without having to screw the cap on and off. But I must admit, I was a little disappointed in that the threaded portion is still a collar that needs to be screwed on. I initially thought that it would clamp around the neck locking into the threads. But I like it and will recommend this for the entire shop.

It's ok but needs to be upgraded
I got the Kinetry gas cylinder regulator safety cap to use while Tig welding, brazing, and HVAC line set testing. The ability to have a regulator on a bottle and stay protected is the perfect design for someone who can't always have a bottle strapped down. Unfortunately I wasn't as impressed with the Kinetry bottle cap as I wanted to be. I had two nitrogen bottles and it was only able to screw all the way down onto one. The other it was barley able to make s full turn so it's not as universal as you think it is. I swapped caps to confirm they were the same. I think it's because of the shape of the threads and the blue paint that is coating them. The hinges leave a lot to be desired from a welders point of view. The fitment is horrible. The welds look ok but should have been welded solid instead of leaving little gaps. The amount of extra heat and effort just finish the weld isn't a big deal and would have looked a lot better. The hinge material isn't nearly as think as the photos suggest either. It might protect your gauge in the case of a fall but I doubt it.

Quality construction with many upgraded features including 4 segment steel hinge
As an administrator at my hospital, I oversee a variety of departments. We recently ordered some new oxygen tanks and they each need to have a high-pressure gas safety cap. I decided to try this particular brand because it has upgraded features. The features I like: **meets or exceeds strict safety standards set by DOT, OSHA, and MSHA for gas cylinder handling (Certification is huge in hospitals because of patient safety; federal rules require documentation) ** universally compatible with common gas tank types including oxygen, argon, nitrogen, and helium **Unlike screw-on caps that require removing the regulator, this open-style cap allows you to keep the regulator and hoses attached **advanced 4-segment thickened stainless steel hinge, offering better load-bearing and a longer safety lifespan compared to traditional 3-segment design **has a slot for a padlock--we don't need this now, but it's good to have for the future The cap fit perfectly onto the oxygen tank. Overall, I am very impressed by the heavy-duty construction and upgraded features listed above. We will get more of these caps for other tanks when we purchase them.

Good for my Argon Bottle
This is great for someone with a home shop. I recently got a argon gas bottle for my welding rig, which I don't use on a daily basis so this is great for me to protect the valve while being able to open it easily for when I do need to weld up a project. Overall build quality is alright at best, and the paint did not seem like they gave it time to dry, but hey it works for my intended use.

Good safety measure for the Acetylene Tank
This is just a good way to keep your tank stored safely in case of a drop and tamper resistance, especially if others have access to your work area and you don't want to risk a fire or any other disaster. In terms of build quality it's decently built, the welding isn't as great as I expected and the material is not as thick as I would have liked. After giving it some thought I'm not sure it would protect the valve in the event of a fall and hopefully I never find out. In terms of installation as long as the threads match up it's as easy as tightening until it's snug. I think it's ok for the price but there are better ones out there. Fantastic way to keep the regs on and the valve closed.
This is a fantastic way to keep the regulator on. And the valve protected, the clamshell opens up nicely, closes nicely. You can even put on a little lock, but if you're using this in a welding environment. Don't expect it to stay locked. Nice product. I like it.
