Book was very helpful
I do a lot of recreational riding and hills are always a challenge so I purchased this book to see if I could improve my performance on hills. Unlike some readers, a lot of the material was new to me and very helpful as I work on improving my hill climbing. It was also a very enjoyable and informative read and I am looking forwarding to applying what I have learned and will definitely be going back to the book to review the advice provided. Well worth the price.

I loved this book
I loved this book! It covered all the bases and is written in a very engaging style that I found motivating and not pendantic. I am a recreational rider who is averaging 16mph on 35 - 40 mile rides with medium but not large hills. I just got back from a 3 day ride that included very long and steep (9+% grade) hills. After reading this book I have a significantly better handle on how to improve my ability to more effectively address larger hills on long rides. I enthusiastically recommend this book to any cyclist that wants to be both better informed about every aspect of hill climbing as well as some of the technical aspects of getting a better edge on hills such as alternative gear ratios and mind game techniques.

Great experience!
Liked: Book was new and delivered in pristine condition in protective packaging. Fast delivery.Book has good, practical information in very readable prose and format. I have read other books and articles on this subject, but this small book hits on practical tips and training ideas quickly and clearly. I hope to improve my climbing.

This book has transformed my cycling!
I bought this book a year ago because I had planned for 2020 to be my climbing year. All of the races I signed up for involved a good amount of climbing.I read through and followed the training plan. By the end of the base period my thighs were noticeably more muscular. I followed the entire plan for 20 weeks, only to have my relay cancelled. So I rode the route anyway, by myself. 250 miles and 14,000 feet of climbing. My legs were tired, but not sore. The following weekend, I Everested. After a couple of rest weeks I started building toward my next fitness peak. This has been an amazing year. It's got to be the best cycling training book I've read.I can't wait for next season.

Lots of great information!
I purchased this book because I like to fill my mind with as much knowledge as possible. I am actually a fitness rider but I have run into some small hills during my rides and it is great to have the knowledge that I have learned in this book to get over them. I just started to get into cycling so getting fit first is my priority right now. Maybe some time in the near future I may try to make it up some steeper hills!

Week written
I recently moved from a flat low altitude section of Texas to the mountains of Colorado and after applying some of the principles in this book, without additional training, I was able to ride up a hill faster and in a higher gear than two days before.
