I love using the graphite molds for reclaiming my scrap silver and bronze. I keep separate molds for each metal I'm reclaiming - I have little organizer boxes with the mold and the crucible for each and have them labeled on the end of the box. These are the perfect size for this, and for pouring an ingot that will be rolled into a sheet. I'm sure some folks will use these for making silver stacks as they're deep enough to make a sizable ingot. The graphite is hard and smooth but could be carved a little using the right burs. This set is a good value as it costs the same as the single mold I have that has smaller wells (that don't roll out as easily to larger sheets since the ingots start out thicker. I'd say the quality is good - I have no complaints from the few times I've used them and they seem to be holding up very well. Just like anything else, don't drop it, store it properly, and it'll last.

These "high-purity" graphite molds developed hairline cracks after one use with molten silver, flaked black residue into my casting, and two of them split completely apart — completely unsafe for any serious metalwork.

I'm not a smelter (if that is the term), but my buddy does smelting at his forge, and we are working on some prototypes so I thought these would be a good way for him to teach me how to cast metal. He looked at these and said "no". He isn't a man of a lot of words, but it seemed a little terse. He eventually explained that it was too humid in his workshop that day to use graphite molds. So I've been waiting for a not so humid day. Finally, we gave up and did the best we could. The first attempt broke the mold. The second attempt seemed to be going well. When he removed the ingot, he was a little concerned. He said there was some ashing, but on closer examination, he thought it was the graphite from the mold. He suggested it might have been caused by a steam pocket. The third attempt was with some scrap copper he had. It came out the best, but the mold cracked when he demolded it. We didn't try the fourth. He did like how that ingot released and looked. In his opinion, these were made okay, but the environment of the forge wasn't ideal for them, and with them being so fragile, they would only last at most a handful of castings in a perfect environment.

He’s been able to use them repeatedly without any noticeable wear or residue buildup, and cleanup is always quick and easy. If you’re looking for reliable, durable molds for small-scale metal casting—whether for a hobbyist or more serious projects—I’d highly recommend these. Great value for the set of four, and they do exactly what they’re supposed to!

First thing to say is they are really small. I knew the size when I ordered them but at the same time, seeing them and using them shows how small they are. They are also fragile. Dropped one and it broke in half. Also, I am using these for aluminum, and the molds leave a speck or two of graphite on each casting. That's ok for what I am using the aluminum for, but if you were using it for gold or silver you might not want graphite in it. I am not pleased with these and will never use them again. Just afraid that while I am pouring in hot aluminum it may break and spew the metal all over or on me. In the garbage they go.

This 4 pack graphite ingot mold is a great value if you like to melt and pour metal! The molds are durable and of good quality, size is 10cm x 5cm. I was able to pour and remove the ingots with ease and with no damage to the molds!

Very impressed with these molds. Each one is carved from a solid piece of graphite so there are no seams or worry of coming apart. They are a decent thickness, but seem a little fragile- they would most likely crack or break if dropped. However, they were well packed: each one was individually wrapped in bubble wrap and set inside a cardboard box. So even though they were shipped in a typical Amazon shipping envelope, they arrived unbroken and in perfect condition.

They look good and look like any other casting molds but unfortunately they didn't even last one use. Awful value for the money. The size is small and mostly used for precious metal pours. I'm glad I did a test run (and you should too) because I would not trust these with my precious pours.
