Bell Flat Defense Road Bike Tire

I will start by saying i am a long time bike mechanic and I thought I had seen it all. The tires arrived properly packaged. When the tires were removed from their containers, I was perplexed by the shape, or should I say, the location of the bead. Just as they are pictured, they arrived. The shape I am so used to only appeared after I installed the tire. What had my hand on the return button was the fact that upon first install attempt, the bead seemed to be to small a diameter for the wheel. After letting the tire sit and my sweat reside, I grabbed my tire spoons and began doing EXACTLY WHAT INSTRUCTIONS SAY TO DO. Surely the tire sat proper and after further seating the tire after slight inflation, I was on the road in smooth fashion. Now if these only came in sweet colors......

This is a great tire, especially for commuters or casual riders. It is highly durable, grippy, and long lasting. If you're not a "bike nut" and just want a great tire at a great price than this is your tire. However, it's difficult to install it. Takes two people to install (unless you have 3 hands). I recommend unfolding the tire and laying itFor those folks not familiar with tire widths, it's about 1\2 inch wider than the rim. It's good on wet roads. This tire is best kept on pavement. The tire rolls reasonably fast and gives a very comfortable ride at max 75psi.The tread on the tires I received does not match the photo in the product description. I received a tread that looks more like a car tire. (The tread shown in the photo is a Bell "Air Lock", sold at Walmart. I've used it before and I loved it.)

Was putting a 25+ year Specialized Cruz back into service. My only intent was to have a dependable bike for exercise, with a goal of as small an investment as possible. These tires met & exceeded that goal. Saw them first time at the big WM. For my particular size, for some reason, they were exactly half the price on Amazon. They are perfect for my intended use. Highly recommend.

These tires are fine, but very different than how they were labeled/advertised. As shown in my picture, the tread is a different pattern than advertised and the tire is exactly 1” wide - significantly narrower than the 1.25” marked on the sidewall. For comparison, I was previously running 27x1 1/8” Continental tires, and those measured 1.10” wide.Aside from those issues, these tires mount on the wheels just fine, seem sturdy and I got them for a very good price ($15/each) - hence the three stars.

no psi indication. china. if the tire does not fit, it is the fault of the rim company, not this tire. schwinn made their own sizes in the 70's etc.; schwinn is the mother.

Not many choices in this tire size but this is much better than the thin flat-prone versions mostly available. Since it is packaged flat, it takes some wrangling to make it tube-like to fit the rims.

Tire had a defect in rim’s edge, causing flats then a blow-out. Called Bell, & they SAID they’d send me another one, but that was weeks ago, & no replacement yet.

Good tire, and a good price. However, they leave marks on my driveway. (it's a painted surface}?
