Trail Atlas of Michigan: Nature, Mountain Biking, Hiking Cross Country Skiing Paperback – April 15, 2002

A good book for trail seekers in Michigan. I was happy to find this book offered for sale used as the instore/new copy was more than I wished to pay. I have not read the entire book yet, but I have already used a trail suggested within its pages. I would definitely suggest this book for trail seekers looking for some fun new trails to try in Michigan.

I've been using Dennis' atlas to plan some late summer rides and find it helpful and frustrating at the same time. The trail descriptions seem very helpful, but locating them on the DeLorme map takes more time than expected. The two books do not overlap as described by Hansen. Not only are the grids different numerically, the area of the grids, from one book to the other are not congruent. I was hoping to have a couple helpful planning tools, but that is not the case. If Dennis would offer a re-draw of his grid and the corresponding numbers to reflect the Gazetteer, it would be great. I'd love to hear from the author about this problem.
