Excellent
Excellent Anthology of Roman Literature. I just wish the hardcover was less expensive as the soft cover binding has gotten a bit worn from daily use.

I gave this book two stars because I sincerely admire the scope and completeness of the volume. It was immediately shocking to see how tiny the font is; within 3 nanoseconds it became a return. I also admit that it was a mistake on my part, in that I'm not sure why I ordered this book. I've been looking for a book about commodities trading in the roman era, following a visit to Hadrian's Wall, in England, two years ago. It must have been the wine that made me click on buying this book. I am not into Roman literature, and, I do have a magnifying glass for sometimes having to read tine fonts, but it did not make this book readable. My rough estimate is - had the publisher printed the same amount of literature in say a 12 point font, to make it thereby readable by normal humans, the book would be 2,400 pages long and would weigh at least five pounds !

An excellent introduction to Roman literature
This is an excellent anthology for becoming acquainted with some of the great writers of antiquity. I'd highly recommend it as a starting point as some writers may resonate more than others initially, meaning you can continue study of those writers works further. We are blessed to have such a rich link to the past. Buy this anthology.
