KomalC 18 Inch Leather Briefcase Laptop Messenger Bag for Men & Women

I bought this bag for my (now) husband, as he had a very worn out similarly styled (but poorly made) work bag that he loved when we got together, but it was well beyond time to retire it. He was very excited about the craftsmanship, the lining, and just how nice the bag looked and felt, the amount of pockets and quality overall. We could both tell this bag would outlast the previous one by years! Unfortunately, our youngest dog, after several months of never once messing with it, decided to chew off part of the front/strap. Unfortunately, we do not currently have the funds to replace the bag, but we will definitely order another of this exact bag when we can. He loved the work bag so much, I ended up buying him one of the duffle and toiletry bags for his birthday since I had planned a vacation for us and he needed real luggage, not a worn out duffle he had been using for decades. I am very sad that our dog decided the leather was too tasty smelling to resist, but considering how hard my husband is on literally everything, and how well it has held up (even after the dog ate part of it!) i can certify it’s a great bag, and will stand up to some real abuse… just not puppy teeth. I will be ordering him a replacement as soon as possible…so he doesn’t have to continue to explain why his nice work bag has a giant chunk missing now….and I will be ensuring we keep it out of paws reach. 🫣

Words cannot express how beautiful this handmade brown leather bag is. I am 40 years old and recently started back to college. That being said, the need for a quality computer bag arose. After shopping around for a while and looking through the many options online, I came across this eye catcher. As things go in today’s market, I was afraid that the photos would be better than the actual product. The bag arrived today, and the situation was completely opposite. The photos do not do this bag full justice. Upon opening the box, the first thing I did was a sniff test and instantly, I was greeted by the wonderful smell of genuine leather. I couldn’t get the bag out of the box fast enough at that point! The genuine buffalo hunter leather is beautifully stitched, with high quality buckles and a plaid interior liner that complements everything beautifully. It has a nice, long, adjustable shoulder strap that is very comfortable when slung across the chest, unlike most bags that can be uncomfortable around your neck. This bag is by far better than any bag I’ve ever owned. There was also a letter in the bag from Komal at Passion Leather explaining the bag and providing care instructions. That was a very nice personal touch. All in all, I personally love this bag and would recommend it to anyone looking for a stylish, high quality, unique bag. I was afraid this bag wasn't going to be big enough for my gaming laptop and my water bottle but there is more than enough room. It smells great and you can tell that it's very sturdy. Its got a good weight to it and has more than enough pockets. I thought I was going to have to return it because I didn't see anywhere that it has a separate compartment for the laptop but it actually does. My water bottle isn't right up against the laptop. Very stylish, goes great with my leather boots. GET IT. You won't be disappointed. Yay! Can't wait for school to start

I love this leather briefcase. The leather looks really nice and it feels solid without being too heavy. My 18 inch laptop fits in it with plenty of room and the pockets make it easy to keep things organized. The first time I brought it to a business meeting someone actually came up and asked me where I got it. He said he had ordered one online recently and when it showed up it had this weird pinkish color to it and he was pretty disappointed. Mine looked like a true leather color and way more masculine. I pulled up the listing on my laptop for him so he could see it and he literally leaned over the table and took a picture of my screen so he could order the same one later. And the smell of the leather when you first open the bag is great. You can tell it's real leather and good quality. The stitching looks really solid too. All the pouches and zippers are awesome! Easy to use. I can put my Bible and journal in it as well with room to spare. Overall really happy with it. Looks professional. Smells amazing. Definetly feels like a quality bag I’ll be using for a long time.

This bag far exceeded my expectations, especially for the price point. Amazing quality buffalo leather, gorgeous craftsmanship, and excellent space and pocket design. The tartan lining is a gorgeous cherry on top. Will absolutely be buying at least the matching duffel if not more!

February 1 Updated Review (4 Stars): After my initial experience with this product, I contact the seller to let them know that I had left them a 1-star review. They immediately offered me a full refund; I countered that I would love to give their product another try. They agreed and sent me a new bag via FedEx from India, which was unexpected and appreciated. The bag has a very slight scent, differing from the leather scent on American-made products which I assume is part of a different process for curing the leather. Being sensitized to the smell - and I cannot stress enough that it is extremely faint on replacement bag - I'm going to let it air out for a couple of days before I use it. I have no idea what happened with the first bag, but it is still hanging outside and the scent is still unpleasantly strong. This is definitely NOT the case with the replacement bag. My initial experience seems to be an anomaly. The bag appears to be well-made and I'm excited to use it. Considering that the original bag has now been hanging in the elements for a couple of weeks and is no worse for wear, I can safely assume that the construction is very high quality. Once I've had the opportunity to use the bag, I'll update this review. I would like to take a moment to commend the seller for their exceptional customer service and their willingness to correct this situation. Based on their responsiveness and demonstrated intent to go the extra mile to make this a positive experience, I wouldn't hesitate to purchase from them again. Original Review (1 Star): After much research, I chose to order this bag based on its size, price point, and photographs. I actually looked at some of the reviews on other products offered by Komal's Passion Leather and used that to make my decision. It is a purchase that I strongly regret. The bag was delivered on December `13. When I opened the package, I was overwhelmed by a horrible stench. This was not "new leather" smell; this is "You don't want ANYTHING you own to smell like this." The bag reeked. While I can't identify the smell, the closest comparison that I have is cat urine. The bag smells hideously bad. Along with a bag came a note from Komal Chaudari that reads, in part, "Because of the Sun tanning and oiling, the leather could have a temporary hardness and distinctive leather smell which fades away within weeks." I cannot stress enough that this is NOT a "leather smell." This is a hideous, overwhelming, "Dear God I don't want anything I own to smell remotely like this. If I take this bag anywhere - or people smell this when I enter the room - they'll assume my cats urinated on my clothing." I tried hanging the bag in the bathroom with the fan running to air it out. However the stench is so bad that the smell filled the entire bathroom. I had to remove the bag from the room and leave the fan running to then remove the stench from the bathroom. So I moved the bag to the garage - where it hung from a hook, open to the air on all sides for weeks. And it still stinks too badly too use. For the last week it's been hanging outside under an outdoor walkway that is open to the wind from both sides. It's January and we're getting storms, so the bag is buffeted by strong winds on a regular basis. It still smells so bad that the bag cannot be used. I originally took the bag out of the packaging on December 13. It's now January 21 - so the bag has been airing out for more than a month and is still completely unusable. Once again, I cannot stress enough that this is not a leather smell. I've owned numerous leather products. This is a terrible, unpleasant, hideous stench that weeks of airing out has not removed from the leather. The bag is completely unusable. The vendor should be ashamed that they are willing to sell a product in this condition. At the very least if their production process creates this stench - and I cannot for the life of me understand why anything would smell this hideous - they should air out the bags or do something to reduce the horrible "this is not a leather smell" stench from the product before they ship it. Do not buy this product. My bag has been airing out for almost six full weeks and is still completely unusable.

Title probably sounds a little negative, but it's not. Firstly, I love this briefcase. I noticed that there were comments on smell and while there is a smell, I had to actually put my nose to the item to notice it. And I didn't find it unpleasant; to each their own. It's very high quality and appears very well made. I didn't have concerns with the main clasp as I had read by others, but I'll keep an eye on it. The shoulder strap is very long, which is nice because I can use it on one shoulder or as a crossbody bag. It has a nice zipper pocket inside and card slots, not that I would use those. It would be my luck that the cards would fall out... Why I say it's almost perfect...but gave it 5 stars. I made some compromises because this bag meet most of my needs while being beautiful and well made. So my compromises are minor concessions. I would like it to have a zipper top under the flap. I'm afraid my clumsiness will cause a spill and things will get lost. I would like the two front compartments to have clasps under the buckles. I'd like the buckles to be decorative like the one on the main compartment. The lining is beautiful. I love the green/blue plaid. But...I wish it would be something less pet hair attractive. Same with the shoulder strap. Lastly: and this is a biggie. My laptop is a 17" Dell Precision 7760 ("workstation", if that matters) and it was a VERY TIGHT fit into the laptop compartment. It's an effort to get it in there and fits a little more than snug. And the velcro security strap can't fasten because the laptop sticks out too far. So...technically, my laptop fits, but it was very snug. Just the way the padded compartment is constructed, I wouldn't expect any relaxing with age of the leather. Maybe I read the dimensions incorrectly? Anyway, my laptop does fit and this was the best looking bag IMO available, so I'm keeping it. It really is beautiful and well made.

OK, fourth time is the charm. I like the look of this bag (single strap over the top, two pouches with straps on the front), but I couldn't decide on the proper size. I found an 18" and a 20" variation of this one and ordered them both. Side by side, they were beautiful and almost perfect. But my wife didn't care for them. So she ordered a different bag from somewhere else for over $400. It, too, was beautiful and would eventually weather down to the condition I desire ... but $400!! Yikes. I finally sat my wife down and explained why I wanted this particular look and ordered this bag. Which is GORGEOUS, is already somewhat weathered, has the look I desire, and seems to be pretty tough. I use it to carry a 17" Lenovo laptop, a fairly hefty 400 page textbook, and my Kindle Scribe along with all the necessary cords and chargers and pens and pencils and notepads that my life demands. I did try to carry my standard 104-key wireless keyboard in the bag, and it will squeeze in there with everything else, but it was too much of a squeeze. I'm looking for a shorter wireless keyboard and will update if/when that happens. I love it. I have chosen to give it a quick touch-up with some mink oil and it darkened just a bit, though it should return to its natural color over the next week or two as the oil absorbs deeper into the leather.

Exquisite bag. Lots of space for everything you need. Extra pockets. An absolute statement piece. The quality is en pointe. Love that the buckles are display only so you can easily do up and undo with the press of the latch underneath the buckle. I didn't find the leather smell too overwhelming but it was my husband that used it daily, and it only seemed to take a week or two, but even he agreed that it wasn't that big a deal. Comes in a lovely cotton bag, with a letter of thanks, and some care instructions etc. The lining is beautiful too. I ended up buying another one for my son to use for work. Now I want one for myself :)

As my second purchase from the store, my expectations were high due to the quality of the first item. They were met and exceeded. It's a thinner interior than the first one, presumably because the "laptop bag" part of "laptop messenger bag" has more emphasis. That noted, the laptop partition still seems wide enough to fit *two* laptops (or an ancient bulky one), however its length and depth nicely accommodate a 17" laptop - and with enough other (flat) things in the center compartment it's unlikely that bit of wiggle room will matter: it seems sturdier than the last one, i.e. even with the leather aging it should keep its thin shape and solid backing more definitely than the previous one I had.

Bonjour, Je viens tout juste de recevoir ce cartable. Premières impressions : Superbe qualité, du cuir véritable justement d'une qualité très elvée. Le cartable est très bien soignée, et livré dans un sac en tissu qui est en soi très classe. Les boucles sont bien couvertes et enveloppées. L'intérieur est bien fait, et le plus important c'est la bandoulière qui a l'air très durable et confortable. Mon ordinateur de 17 pouces rentre très facilement dans le cartable, ce qui est le plus important pour moi. Je trouve que le sac, selon sa qualité actuelle, vaut beaucoup plus que son prix. Je le recommande et je compte chercher dans leur boutique pour des sacs de voyages. J'espère que vous garderez cette qualité des produits dans le fûtur. Merci
