We tap at 370 rpm in aluminum 6061 3/4"
We tap a lot of holes in 3/4" and 1" 6061 aluminum. With a spindle speed of 370 rpm.

Regular lubes are useless for working with aluminum. This product works great

Expensive but worth the cost.
OK, this stuff is expensive, particularly for the home workshop. That said, I really like it. Leaves and excellent surface finish and that make the cost worth it. Building model engine and working to close tolerances, this makes it a pleasure. Wish it were cheaper but....

I have been using this since 1972. This is the best for tapping aluminum that I have ever tried.
