LEO Bosses can REALLY suck and take it out on the Good Guys.
As a former LEO myself, I can attest to how lousy those in the Ivory Tower tend to treat the troops in the trenches.I never did undercover work but still, when you are a proactive cop you tend to turn over rocks that influential clowns reside and they have the ear of the Bosses. So when you arrest said turds, the Bosses tend to piss downhill on, guess who?So I feel for this Man and what he was forced to endure. I left LEO before retirement because I was tired of the Bosses being nearly as corrupt as the criminals I was charged with arresting. Seems that kind of crap isn't unique to only a couple of government agencies, either as we have both learned. At least we survived and got out with our hides (mostly) intact. This book is an EXCELLENT insight into the corruption on BOTH sides of the badge. And it sucks cops have to fight both the "Bad Guys" and the "Bad Guys" in charge.Read this book and be ready to be upset at what REALLY happens behind the scenes. It ain't like Hollyweird portrays them.

Solid but aggravating!
As expected, Jay Dobyns delivers a riveting and informative book. Unfortunately, he needs a new editor. The VAST number of typos and grammatical errors made it a very aggravating read.

Decent book
I enjoyed No Angel so I had to buy this too. Jay goes into a lot of history of his job. Ventures unrelated to his Hells Angels case. There is very little info on that case that hasn't already been presented in his first book. I was hoping there would be more but I can understand why there isn't. Fast paced read. Jay has lived an interesting life for sure. Worth a read.

Great book by a brave man
Catching Hell is the true story of the betrayal of ATF agent Jay Dobyns. Jay suffered ridicule within his ranks and even had his house burnt down while his family was inside it. Some people say the Hell's Angels burnt Jay's house down. But as you read the book you'll discover a much more sinister plot to silence Jay and destroy the only thing he had left in his life, his family. Catching Hell takes you into the dark truth of the ATF's operations and attempts to cover up the author's successful attempt to unveil the dirty truth behind the ATF's refusal to offer he and his family protection after operation Black biscuit was completed. Jay Dobyn's is a true hero and his story is a must read.

Just as good as No Angel!
Agent Dobyns is an American hero. He has stopped lots of bad guys while putting himself in harm's way. He also stopped the bad guys at ATF, and at great peril. Agent Dobyns writes about high points in his career and the low points as well. Many view him as pompous or arrogant, but this book will prove the haters wrong. Agent Dobyns has no trouble telling the reader about his short comings with humility. This book is just as good as No Angel. I read this one cover to cover and when I was finished, I wanted more. I enjoyed learning about some of his experiences during his career. From Waco, to Columbine, and the aftermath of Black Biscuit, each page was intense. I hope Agent Dobyns write another book.

Jay Dob
I loved the truthfulness of Jay's story and how candid he was when being wrong. I have no worry of being a Brother in Arms with him.

No Angel sequel, but better!
I loved Dobyns’s 1st book No Angel. Catching Hell is even better. Brutal at times. Funny at times. I laughed and cried, sometimes during the same chapter. Never have I read a true crime story that exposes a raw soul like this. Heroic stories. Appalling events. Brave. Weak. Healthy. Depressed. Corruption. Race. Brotherhood. Betrayal. Defeat. Success. It’s all in here from a man who rode on this rollercoaster during his life. No punches pulled, even on himself. Anyone who wants to know what it is REALLY like, all the scars and halos, should read it. None other like it.

Excellent follow up to No Angel
This is another great book by Jay Dobyns on his life undercover and the impact it had on his family. Excellent page turner that you will not want to put down. It provides insight into so many areas of law enforcement that the average person is not privileged to see or hear about. Jay provides vivid details that allow your mind to take the journey with him through his career. Take the time to read this excellent story.

A Good Guy
One man against the Establishment, for real! Awful struggle for a good guy (with an ego, admittedly). I really felt for Jay, his wife and family. I'd love Gwen to write a book with her side of things, as she put up with Hell. One strong woman!

Great book, but a little disjointed at times
Jay Dobyns chose to pursue a line of work that only .00001% of the population would ever consider signing up for.Contrary to how it's portrayed in movies and TV, deep undercover police work is neither cool or sexy as Dobyns so clearly illustrates throughout the book. It's a nasty business that completely changes you and affects those around you. It's even worse when the law enforcement agency you dedicated your life to subsequently screws you over big time in an attempt to destroy your reputation and humiliate you with outright lies and criminal cover ups. That, in a nutshell, is what happened to Jay (bird) Dobyns. But he didn't take it lying down like a wimp. He took on the ATF, The U.S government, sued, and won. He didn't get much of a financial award ($173,000.00) but his reputation as an honest cop was restored.I enjoyed the book, although it was disjointed at times from chapter to chapter. The editors could have done a better job of piecing this book together in a more coherent way.

Gritty semi-autobiographical account of life as an ATF agent
Not for the squeamish. Well written, focused, in-depth account of Jay Dobyns' life as an ATF agent. Addresses the fall-out both from the ATF and from the Hells Angels from Operation Black Biscuit, but this is only about 30% of the book. The rest deals mostly with his previous history infiltrating other gangs and alt-right groups.

Love the the different clubs. Very friendly guys, BUT DONT cross the line!!
I honestly hated to put it down. Excellent portrayal of undercover agents. This is the fifth book I ordered from you concerning motorcycle clubs. Am an avid Harley rider and know the president of one of the chapters of the HA which will remain anonymous. Carry it to the grave. Again excellent portrayal and quite accurate.
