Good brush but not ideal for foundation blending
Good brush but not ideal for foundation blending I like this brush, but for me it’s too thin and firm for blending liquid foundation. I’m used to much softer brushes for that purpose, so this one didn’t give me the smooth finish I was hoping for. That said, I think it works much better for bronzer or contouring. The firmer bristles give definition and make it easier to shape and blend bronzer than a softer, fluffier brush would. The brush itself is good quality, feels substantial in my hand, and the thick handle is comfortable to hold while applying makeup. Cleanup is straightforward and doesn’t take much effort. Overall it’s a nice brush, just not quite right for foundation blending for me. I’ll use it more for bronzer, but it’s still a solid piece and well made. For $8 it provides great value.

💄✨ foundation brushes are back and frankly the beauty blender lobby had a good run ✨💄
2026 is the year i stop donating 80% of my foundation to a damp sponge. i love expensive premium makeup, and i don’t like to waste it. i’m sorry. i’m done. beauty blenders are lovely for blending but somewhere along the way we all agreed to politely sacrifice half our product into a porous little egg and i will not be participating any longer. enter this flat spatula-style foundation brush. if you’ve ever seen the paddle brushes floating around lately (think that very buttery, paint-brush-looking style like the morphe m109), this is essentially that concept. a very flat, very dense line of bristles that spreads foundation across the skin the way a tiny makeup architect intended. listen…the first time you use one of these it does feel a little illegal. you paint the product on your face like you’re icing a cake. there is a moment where you look in the mirror and think “surely this is not how makeup works”. and yet. it works extremely well. the brush head is thin and straight rather than fluffy, which means it lays product down evenly instead of bouncing it around your face like a sponge does. you can literally sweep foundation across the skin and watch it distribute in a thin, even layer without drinking half the bottle in the process. pores, around the nose, little creases near the mouth… it gets into all of it surprisingly neatly. the bristles are dense but soft, which is exactly what you want with this style of brush. they keep their shape so the foundation spreads smoothly, but they’re not scratchy or stiff. mine hasn’t shed at all so far either, which i deeply appreciate because rogue brush hairs stuck in fresh foundation is a very specific form of psychological warfare. the head is also quite thin, which actually makes a difference when you’re working around the nose or under the eyes. it’s easy to angle and get into smaller areas without feeling like you’re trying to park a truck on your face. handle is simple, lightweight and comfortable to hold. nothing fancy but it does the job without feeling cheap or awkward. what i usually do is put a pump or two of foundation on the back of my hand, lightly swipe the brush through it, then paint it across the face in thin passes. long strokes my friends, from the centre of your face and pull outwards. after that i’ll either leave it as-is (because honestly it often looks perfectly smooth already) or lightly tap over it with a sponge to blur the edges. and yes, because i am a slightly neurotic adult, i wash my brushes and then spray them with hypochlorous acid afterwards so everything stays properly clean. the brush has held up well through washing so far. tl;dr: if you’re tired of your beauty blender quietly absorbing half your foundation like a tiny cosmetic tax collector, this flat spatula brush is a very satisfying alternative. smooth application, dense soft bristles, easy to control, and it wastes dramatically less product. honestly a very solid little tool.
