Hum Eliminated and now Sings
I purchased this thinking I was likely going to need to return it and get something much more expensive. When I first hooked it up there was a lot of hum. I played with the grounding and moved the unit around a fair bit. It's really important to remember that a SUT is basically going to amplify any electrical noise nearby. I plugged the output cables into my phono pre and then just moved the unit around until I found the quietest spot. Once I did that and got the grounding right, I can't believe how good this sounds. I have a 7500 phono pre and this little transformer sounds much better than the ones built into my unit. Definitely keeping for now.

So happy with my Bellari 502 u SUT
I had purchased a AT 33sa moving coil cart also from Amazon to go on my AT LP7 turntable . I had never had a moving coil cart before and wanted to experience the improvement in sound quality, and improve my sound system . My turntable had a built in MC preamp built in. I had stated to research SUTs that were recommended for MC cart . I read reviews about the Bellari and honestly had a little concern about a couple of them. I was so excited to receive my Bellari502 and purchased a pair of 18 “ Insulated RCA cables . It was so easy to set up, and experience no feedback or hum through my speakers . The sound quality was so unbelievable and what a huge difference it had made in my system . I am very happy to write this review. I not only received a great product , but was at a great price too.

Wow, it made my modified 834 clone sings.
Wow, I am speechless. This is a great way to use your mm phono stage with mc cartridge. This should only be used with low MC cartridge. I am very happy with the result.

Dissapointment
Registered the Bellari at www.rolls.com before I was able to connect it to my system. After my Audio-Technica AT-33EV MC was mounted and all connections were made, I was dissapointed to find the Bellari did not work as it sould have. Was not able to get any sugnificant gain, no matter the position of the small toggel switches.I went back to the Rolls website and submmited my issues with the device, they have not responded. Now will have to get a refund and look for another brand which an established company. May cost me more, if that is what it takes.

Maybe very good in some systems but created hum for me.
Concept and build quality seem to be right, however, I just could not get it to stop creating hum in my system. It may work fine for you, but in my tube based system I got hum and no grounding changes on this or on my entire system could get rid of that. Obviously I had to send it back but it was worth a try and, as I said, has a pretty good reputation. Just buy it form someplace like Amazon, where it can be returned if ti doesn't work.

Bellari-MT502 Fantastic!!!
I installed this last night and was blown away by the difference it made my turntable sound.I ran a grounding wire to the Bellari transformer from both my McIntosh amp and to mydynaco pas3x preamp. Using a Goldring Eroica 100ohm cartridge the sound sparkled.I normally use a Carver Sunfire Classic Preamp with the phonoboard adjusted to the impedance butreplaced it with the dynaco for routine maintenance. The Telefunken 12AX7's combination with this unitmade the sound sparkle! I also had the turntable ground to the dynaco. Their are two tiny switches which canbe adjusted if hum persists, these switches are next to the line output and input jacks. So grounding wire from turntable tobellari to preamp, grounding wire from Amp to Preamp.

BELLARI MT502 Step-up transformer
I had this item for 2 weeks but could never find a way to eliminate hum. I was not impressed with the sound at all. Very thin and shrill with a Denon DL-A100 100th anniversary cartridge. I had to send it back, because it did not work well with my equipment.I cannot recommend this product.
