Q: Im going to have to spend several months lying down flat on my back. Can I use this so my laptop would be more or less above me?

The Laptop Laidback cannot place the screen directly towards the ceiling above your head. It seems like you're not using any pillow(s) for head / shoulder support. As such, you'd be looking straight up and our "Laidback" product won't place your laptop as you'd need. If however, you can place a pillow or two under your shoulders and head, then it is a perfect solution. Please see the the "product-in-use" photos on our Amazon product page. The male and female models are using the product exactly as it is intended to be.

Q: Has anyone discovered an add on mouse pad solution for this product?

I use a stiff, metal, gaming mousepad when working in bed. I like the Penguin mouse.

I am a reporter who had spinal fusion. Following surgery I was on my back or standing up fir about 4 months- those were my only positions! This device enabled me to continue working. I would suggest getting a variety (and I mean that literally) of pillows of varying thicknesses to prop up your arms and neck so that you can maintain a stable position. This device enabled me to use my MacBook Pro with no issues. It had a lot of versatility in terms of settings, so with time you’ll find a position that fits your body comfortably. I recommend this product for anyone who needs to keep using a laptop while laying down.

We can supply Velcro at minimal cost. Typically, we place the required pieces in an envelope and send via the postal system.
