The Answer / La Respuesta (Expanded Edition): Including Sor Filotea's Letter and New Selected Poems

This is an indispensable edition and translation of one of Sor Juana's most important prose works. I found it invaluable as I was writing an article on Sor Juana's epistemology for a philosophically-minded audience; although I produced my own English translation of my selections, the historical introduction at the front and the thorough end-notes and references at the back were invaluable to me as I looked to extend my study of Sor Juana further. I also found this particular English translation helpful while trying to decide between available readings of the Spanish. Could not recommend more.

Sor Juana de la Cruz is a must read for all women!

Essays and poetry by a 17th century Mexican radical feminist philosopher. Fascinating topic. Clear, readable translation, opposite the original Spanish. Nice selection of Sor Juana's works. Useful notes.
