PCCN Certification Review, 2nd Edition

I passed my PCCN in December 2015 using this book and the AACN review course. The questions in this book are really good for preparing for the exam; however, the questions online are the same as in the book. That's handy, but, I wish that the online questions were different so that there would be more of a variety. What I like about the review questions being online was that I could pull it up on my tablet and take it with me one the go. It's easier to do the questions online as opposed to in the book because it will give you the rationale right away and you don't have to flip to the back of the chapter to look up the rationale for each question. I wish that I had just bought online access as opposed to the book, since that's just what I used a majority of the time. But, it's fun to have the book to get your friends to practice on you.

This was a great tool for studying for the 2015 PCCN; however I wouldn't just use this book. It's a lot more difficult than the test itself and goes into too much detail on certain systems where it doesn't need to (i.e. the test explains that only 5% of the whole test will be on endocrine and focusing on DKA - so it gets distracting when this review has 82 questions focused on feed-back systems). Grab this book as a supplement! But not as your only source of questions. The more questions you look through the better! Good luck!

The questions get a little technical when they want you to know every minor side effect of drugs we never use in the PCU, but overall it was a good learning experience. It really gives you an idea of where to start with your studying. However! Don't waste your time with the printed questions as they are the same as the online interactive questions. All the knowledge, none of the page flipping.

questions were actually more difficult than the exam, so more info learned than needed which is always good. Only bad thing, is the online access code makes it to where when you sell it, the next owner can't use it. Would've preferred a disc.

Went through 2/3 of this book, did not pass PCCN. Will not blame that on the book though. I actually thought the content was great and included pertinent material. Will use this to study for my second attempt.

Online practice test was easy to use, I passed the first attempt. I liked the rationales for all if the questions. Very helpful.

Everything as expected and more. This book was next to new! Great price, great shipping. Will be great for preparing!
