Just what I needed

Got these today and they will be perfect for what I want them for. Shielded at each end with a strong clip. The end is small enough to get into tight spots but opens wide for several wires or just holding. I really like the colors which will make sure you can trace it back to the start or finish. The cable is very flexible which is handy for sensitive spots. Probably will get a another bundle later. For the price and good service you can't go wrong.

These made my life so much freaking easier while trying to test some connections from some pads on a circuit through a breadboard and a few JTAG connectors. Only wish they were a tad smaller, but that's my bad. The single star removal is because the rubber around the clips moves a ton so it sucks when they go wonky and off the clips; which becomes a chore to get back on (for clarity, chore is used in the "first world problems" category of things that suck).

I sometimes have a need for temporary wires. I bought this for such an application. Running DC current to an appliance. Not sure the amount of power I was working with but it was to charge a battery for said appliance. Pretty basic, I suppose. They performed well and I solved the problem I aimed to solve. These will go in my toolbox for future use. I expect that they will perform a few more duties but will not be surprised if they wear out after a few uses. They are fairly inexpensive wires, after all.

These leads are assembled using very light gauge wire and it is only crimped to the clips. For hobby electronic work, I can live with the low current capacity wire, and found that the crimp connection on most of the clips was adequate. Emphasis here is on the "most" as I found a couple that were loose enough to create "noise" on the circuit that I was dealing with, which increased the time spent troubleshooting the problem. The worst problem with these leads is the slippery boot on the clips, which make it difficult to attach them to anything because the clips turn and move inside the boot as pressure is applied. I decided to rework the leads as follows: 1. Un-crimp the leads and solder to the clip then re-crimp over the insulation. 2. Add shrink fit tubing over the soldered area to extend about 1/4" beyond the boot. 3. Shorten the large end of the boot about 3/8" so that about 1/4" of the tip of the clip is always exposed. 4. Superglue the rear of the clip where the crimp is and slide the boot over the glue. After the glue dries, the boot is held from shifting and the leads are much easier to use... takes about 5 minutes per end to rework them. Pix shows reworked cables on the right.

These worked very well for me, and my only complaint would be with the final price after adding everything up, however if you check back periodically, you might find more sellers, for example today March 03, 2015 there are many sellers listed including Amazon as as add-on item or free shipping with $25 purchase, so in that case they would be highly recommended. I have used mine a lot and have had no problems at all, although a previous batch did break electrical contact where it attaches to the clip, but that was an old version of this product and the newer version seems to be much improved, and if they do break at the clip, its easy to just repair with a little solder and squeeze the wire back into the part that retains it. I can fix it in less that 60-seconds and please keep in mind that these ones are a lot better and have not broken at all.

I purchased 2 packs and I'm quite happy with these. I didn't measure the wire size but they are larger and heaver than a set I bought several years ago from another site. The clips are attracted to a magnet so I know they are not Aluminium and could probably be souldered if I wanted to (that's good). I checked them with a Ohm meter and the connections were all good. The boot is soft and flexible. Well worth the price for those of us that are DIY's.

What is there to say? Nice set of cheap alligator test leads. I would buy again.
