Nice quality VoIP phone
We have been using the Ooma system for quite a number of years now. I was using a basic phone attached to Telo via the Link but it didnʻt have a conference call feature, and I had to check voicemails through the website, so I bought the Ooma DP1. I use it with my second line for my home office. Love the call sound quality. Some quirky features I can live with - hard to press keys and I still canʻt figure speed dial setup. I bought the ienza 3.5mm female to 2.5 mm male adapter to use my earphone/headset w/mic and it works great. Rated tech support "3" because one day there was no dial tone and waited 30+ minutes to get support. However, we decided to just reset the Telo and once it reconnected everything worked just fine so we hung up on tech support. Worth the investment.

Works most of the time. Usable but could be much better.
This phone is mostly ok, but it does hang up from time to time. We have had them about 6 months now and twice it has hung up and I had to unplug the power and battery to get it to reset. IN both cases when trying to connect to a incoming call that was passed to me from other Ooma DP1 phone and loosing them. The sound quality is average.Others have mentioned no feedback on button pushes, and that is basically true but not completely. There is an option in the menu to turn on button clicks. It appears not to work on mine as I select it but the box does not check. However, after doing so you will start to hear a slight clicking sound when pushing buttons. It should indicate the numbers you push in the display but it does not.For instance our corporate office has you dial a extension for whomever you wish to speak to. Once connected in a call you see the number you dialed but when you dial the extension you get no feedback as to what you dialed. Every other system I have used shows the numbers you press on the display. Its a nice big display, they should use it.The wireless part is why we bought them. We moved to a new office and instead of adding phone wiring to the building we just got the wireless phones. So if you don't mind loosing a caller every so often, give them a try

Not a two line phone !!!
I have had Ooma for years, and for the most part I am satisfied. However, I have had some issues which I thought purchasing this Ooma DP1 phone would solve. I have two phone numbers with Ooma, with a Telo and Linx device for the two separate phone lines. They have been attached to my landline two line phones in my house for years. I can press line 1 or line 2 on my 2 line landline phones and call or receive calls on either line. Faxing has never worked on the Linx as it was supposed too, so my Line 2 is configured to the Telo since I realized faxes work as long as the phone number is on the Telo device due to it being plugged directly into an internet connection. But with that configuration that means that voicemail is played on the Telo for Line 2 and not Line 1.I figured purchasing the DP1 two line phone would resolve this as I could have voicemail for Line 1 visible on the DP1 and voicemail for Line 2 o the Telo which are both on my desk.It turns out the DP1 is not a true 2 line phone. It is meant for customers who have one phone number, and can press line 2 on the DP1 for a virtual second line but not a dedicated phone number.I spent hours and hours on the phone with Ooma over a week trying to get it to work, but in the end it just will not work as a typical two line phone. Ideally the DP1 should ring on Line 1 or Line 2 when I receive an incoming call on either of the two phone numbers I have through Ooma, but it will not. You also cannot pickup the handset or speakerphone on the DP1 and press the Line 2 button and dial out from the second line. A workaround is to press **0 or **1 before dialing an outgoing number to choose the line 1 (**0) or 2 (**1). Voicemail also will only be for only one line, and caller ID does not work for Line 2 or ring for an incoming call. There were some workarounds I found, but never all the features working all as they should. Get caller ID working on Line 2, but then voicemail defaults to Line 2 instead of Line 1. In the end, Ooma said it just is not meant to work with two phone numbers, which is kind of strange for a two line phone. The buttons are also a little hard to press, and do not beep when being pressed despite me enabling the feature in its settings. It will work for a bit, than stop working. If Ooma could get this device to work with two phone numbers, it would be a nice product.Since my existing two line landline phones work fine, I have found an alternative. The DP1 phone itself is nice looking, and it ends up the VTech CM18445 is the same exact phone with a lot of nice features such as up to 4 lines, music on hold, call recording, as well as many other features. The model above is black and silver, but there is an alternate model number AM18447 which is all black. The only difference is color, and the AM stands for Amazon as it was an amazon exclusive color. It may not be available on Amazon, but I purchased on eBay.The unit can also be expanded with other cordless desksets (CM18845 or AM18247), cordless handsets (CM18045 or AM18047), and/or a wireless headset (IS6200). Expandable up to 10 stations. The VTech unit has built in voicemail, but I prefer to use the voicemail with Ooma since it is emailed as well. To check email on the VTech, I plan on making a speeddial to the same phone number on the line to access it, however it will not notify me on the VTech phone of a voicemail unless I use the built in voicemail on the VTech. I will receive notification in email, so that should work for me.

Sounds good, if you use a different handset
I've used this phone for over a year now. Since I am on the phone a lot I installed a Sennheiser DW Pro 2 BT headset between the phone and its handset. When I use the Sennheiser headset my calls sound amazing and I'm glad I bought the DP1. However, if I use the handset... never mind, I never use the handset because it sounds horrible. Sometimes I can't even understand what people are saying.I also wish the phone would at least beep every time I press a button on the keypad. An audio confirmation that a key is pressed is much better than having to watch the screen as I key in numbers.Do I recommend it? Yes, if you plan on replacing the handset.

Works great other than hard to press buttons
I love this phone other than the difficult to press buttons. That is literally my only complaint. The Ooma service is excellent and has some really versatile features. I was hesitant to purchase this particular phone with so many negative reviews. However, I have no problems. Some people say the phone is too quiet. If anything, mine is too loud. I leave it on the lowest volume setting and can hear perfectly fine. The battery backup keeps it running in the event of power outages. It also has a lot of business / office phone features like programmable buttons, do not disturb, and voicemail access.

I should have bought this years ago.
When I found out that this Ooma phone works with Telo I jumped at the opportunity. I was using a very old, refurbished Astra analog phone with my Plantronics Headset. I was delighted at the many great features of this phone. The Plantronics phone lifter works very well on it and the receiver doesn't fall out of the cradle like the old one did. The gloss black finishing was a poor choice. It is a magnet for fingerprints and is hard to clean, even with eyeglass cleaners after only one day. The buttons are a little too stiff to push but I can get used to that. Still, the benefits far outweigh that downfall. I will enjoy using this phone.

Plug and Play definitely
So easy to install, good quality and the audio quality is excellent. Only criticism - the user guide is not 100% accurate. The menu button is supposed to have “Speed Dial” in the list, but it does not. I suspect a firmware upgrade may have changed this. I am sure I will find the answer when I search on-line.

Sound quality
I think that the sound quality may be relative to the quality of the internet provider service, and not necessarily due to the phone unit itself.
