Sage wisdom
I begin each year with a new daily reader, and each morning I read one page. These are short passages but they give me much to contemplate.

Thich Nhat Hanh’s Greatest Hits
This is a wonderful book, sort of like Thich Nhat Hanh’s greatest hits. Melvin McLeod, editor of The Shambhala Sun, has combed through more than 30 writings by Thich Nhat Hanh or interviews with him to select the 365 passages in this book. The writings span nearly 40 years of Thich Nhat Hanh’s insight. The book ranges widely from succinct explanations of profound Buddhist teachings to simple but sincere and helpful daily motivations to do good in the world. I suppose this book was designed for readers to finish in a year, absorbing one passage a day for 365 days. I’ve had this book for a while now and am discovering that it is a book for a lifetime. I meditate on / practice with one passage for days at a time, and am slow to move through the book. Highly recommended. I’ll leave you with this quote. I opened the book just now at random and discovered this succinct gem: #246, One Contains All. When you touch one thing with deep awareness, you touch everything. The same is true of time. When you touch one moment with deep awareness, you touch all moments. According to the Avatamsaka Sutra, “The one contains the all.” If you live one moment deeply, that moment contains all the past and all the future in it.

Truly a bliss in writing
This book made me rethink what life is all about and to practice mindfulness in every second of being alive, being here and being now. It gives you step by step guidance to practice mindfulness with people around us, our family, friends, and everything we touch. so glad that I touched this book and the book touched my life!

Uplifting
Thich Nhat Hahn is uplifting and so necessary to read in these challenging days. Mindfulness is a skill, but a difficult one for Westerners to learn. Hahn simplifies the process.

Home is where your Heart is
my book arrived just today, but i already know that i love it and shall bring it with me on morning and evening walks and for the waiting time before lectures concerts and theater. how do i know this to be true? i have read and cherished a copy of this book for two years now - a present from my sister on my moving to my new home. my original book has not only its pages covered with penciled thoughts and dog-eared at most corners, but it has literally been torn in half (the binding subsequently protected with linen tape) so that i can slip it easily in my pocket. if you are organized and methodical and possess self-control, there is one brand-new thought for each of the year's days. if you are like me, you'll dive in at whim - opening it at random, flitting back and forth. the gentle philosophy and subsequent suggestions you will read, are repetitive - they will set up a cadence in your thought - of the little truths that are the whole of truth and the simple ways to truly experience and appreciate your meaningful joyful life.... and i wish for you, too, the well-being that i have experienced from MY copy (copies) of this book(s)....

Wise daily reflection
I use this book for daily reflection - I read it and then write a short version in my planner as a daily reflection when I’m making my gratitude list. The entries are short, and some are a bit “in the weeds” of Buddhism, but they’re usually clear and insightful. Some of his writing is positively poetic, and the editor did a good job selecting the material.

Great author, but...
I recommend other books by Thich Nhat Hanh like "The Heart of the Buddha's Teaching" or "The Art of Living".I am not a fan of this snackable content, consumption-oriented type of book. But I could see it being welcomed by those who like some reminders to start their day off with, or a little comforting something before dozing off at night.

They are wonderful thoughts and I have been reflecting every since
I have been reading Your True Home slowly for the past few weeks and it has been a nourishing journey - the idea of finding the stillness within, the recognition of impermanence, the consciousness of returning to oneself and to here and now, bringing mindfulness into the every minute of living. They are wonderful thoughts and I have been reflecting every since. If you are on the journey or on a quest of finding the inner creative self, then this book is for you. Thanks to this book, somehow I think I may have found the deep well of mine, that offers inner peace, creativity, and nourishment. Definitely a book to keep close.
