Miguel Elguin: Problemas en formato Kindle
Como Brandon señaló: el contenido, es excelente. (Cinco estrellas. ¡Sin duda!). Pero en formato Kindle es horrible.Por ejemplo, al abrir el libro en Kindle App, para Smartphone o iPad, esta se reinicia.

I love this book
I love this book. I was not aware of the treasure trove that awaited me when I ordered this-- yes I saw the reviews-- but it's bundled with so much great and needed theological truths that even now it is hard for me to put it into words. I haven't finished it yet but it is one of the few books that once I pick it up its agonizing to put down. I got this book to help study for seminary, but I think absolutely anyone who wants to deepen their understanding of God, the catechism, or just are curious about theology would enjoy this book. Highly recommended. -NdN

Q:What is the chief way to understand the Larger Catechism?
Answer: To read J. G. Vos's extremely clear commentary on the (overlooked and underread) Westminster Larger Catechism. For those who would like a one-volume, handy, theological volume to study, this would be a good one (another good one is A. A. Hodge's Commentary on the Confession). If you are someone studying for licensure or ordinations exam, or someone trying to better understand the overview of the Bible (also read his father's 'Biblical Theology for an overview), or studying for Sunday school class, or someone studying for devotion, this book is for you! It is quite indispensable as a commentary on the catechism and now after years of being out of print, P&R has seen fit to bless us! I hope that this volume will help us to return to our confessional roots as a people of God who are part of a great and long heritage of saints! 'Take up and read!'

Something Special
I have a large number of books on Reformed Theology including a number of books which seek to use the Westminster Confession and Catechisms as a springboard to explain the intricacies of Calvinism, but even with all that at my disposal I find this work is something special. The clarity of thought here is miles beyond anything else I've found. The format is simple: A question from the catechism, the relevant scripture passages identified and summarized in a single sentence, then a series of brief questions and answers on the passage. The Larger Catechism of the Westminster Confession has unfortunately been rather neglected, both in churches and in the written word (Thomas Ridgely's two volume commentary is the only other I can think of, and it's much too complex for most readers) but this volume makes all the theological complexities crystal clear. A must read.

Vos Commentary on the Westminster Larger Catechism
I am reading through this commentary in a deliberate and slow fashion to learn these wonderful doctrines of our God. I am only about 25% complete, but I don't expect the quality to change so I thought it safe to comment now. This commentary is wonderful. Scripture references are given for each question, and each question is expounded upon with more questions and answers provided by Vos. I think the text and teaching is wonderful and I am thankful that I bought this commentary. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to enlarge his/her understanding of God and His works.

FIVE STARS for content.ONE STAR for KINDLE version. The Kindle version text is quite possibly the worst I've ever seen - it even looks bad on an iPad with retina display. It looks like a poor quality scan of a rough draft. I don't want to give this a low rating because of this but buyer beware - get a sample of the Kindle version before buying to check the font.

The Westminster Larger Catechism - A Commentary
The Westminster Larger Catechism Commentary by Johannes Geerhardus Vos is a very thorough and helpful explanation of the questions and answers found in the Westminster Larger Catechism. It is not for the faint hearted as it will take many hours of study if full justice is to be done to its contents. Vos' commentary is very easy reading but I found the Biblical references with their comments (which appear just before his commentary begins on each part of the catechism) too numerous on many occasions and they did not always improve the authority of the commentary in many cases. There are just too many quoted which have little bearing on the points being made. Nevertheless, it is important to read them all to find out which Biblical references are relevent to the commentary and which justifies the points being made. Some evangelical Christians will take issue with the comments on Baptism and some of the comments on Divorce. Also the relationship between Church and State. But these needs to be read to understand the arguments in favour of the points being made.I have found it a a very salutary experience to realise how thorough and faithful these men were who took the Bible very seriously and who tried to understand its every detail and therefore are able to instruct men of all generations from the the seventeenth century to the twenty first about what God expects of His people and all the people of this world. In the introduction to the book W.Robert Godfrey gives an excellent potted history about the Westminster Assembly. For those, who like me, know little about the Westminster Assembly then it is useful to read The Westminster Confession of Faith. The "Westminster Confession of Faith for study classes" by G.I. williamson (who is also the editor of the Westminster Larger Catechism)is a useful introduction. However, here too, I found the Biblical references too numerous in some cases but again it essential to read them all to ensure the appropriate justifications are made. Finally, there are instances of typographical errors in the Biblical references but they are very few in number and are easily corrected by the serious student. All in all a good book for the serious Bible student.
