It's a great book that opens opportunities to talk about values and experiences as well as just enjoying a good story with delightful illustrations. I hope this never goes out of print!

This book is so cute! My 3 year old is obsessed. Olive, a dog, hears people singing “all of the other reindeer” and thinks they’re saying “olive (her name) the other reindeer” so she heads to the North Pole to help guide Santa’s sled. It turns out a dog is a big asset to the team and helps Santa and the reindeer tremendously. It teaches kids that just because you might not appear to be a perfect match for a job, your skills could provide useful and your strengths can be just what the team needs ❤️❤️

My husband and I get a new Christmas book every year, is it was a tradition I grew up with. This was one of my favorites as a kid and was so excited when I found it on Amazon. High quality and super cute, bonus if you are a dog lover!

I usually like The Book more than The TVSpecial or Movie, But I was raised on The TV Version, which is quite a bit more complicated & I wondered if Olive could actually fly, as there were so many other magical things going on.The book version is practically pure empirical science compared to The TVSpecial.

It’s a wonderful holiday book. A dog named Olive hears the story of Santa and his reindeers and believes she’s one of them! My nieces and nephews absolutely love it! It was out about 20 years ago and is hard to find. I was thrilled to find it at Amazon.

Love this book for children. Such a positive book about a little doggie wanting to do her part in helping Santa. Everyone can dream. Lovely simple illustrations too. Loved it so much we named out pup Olive as she looked like the dog in the book. Can't wait for grandchildren to read it too.

Book is in excellent condition and shipping was fast even though it was ordered at Christmas. We also have the DVD and my kids love it, so got the book for them to enjoy

A cute story about a little dog who saves the day by finding a way home for Santa through the fog by following her nose.Olive the dog mishears the line in the song "Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer" about "all of the other reindeer". Thinking the lyrics are singing "Olive, the other reindeer", she has an identity crisis and heads off to the North Pole to find out if she is a reindeer by applying for a position in Santa Claus' sled team. She comes along for the Christmas delivery ride; and throughout the journey she becomes more confident in who she is and what she is good at by doing tasks for Santa Claus she as a dog can do better than any reindeer. She finds lost objects, catches falling toy flutes, ... and in full Rudolph style guides the sleigh through the fog by using her nose - to sniff out the way home.And that is how Santa Claus came by a guide dog for his sled team.

Such a charming story. I look forward to many more readings of this book in holiday seasons to come.

After watching this on TV one christmas at my grandparent's house as a kid, I grew to love Olive. So after being curious about the book, I decided ''what the hell, go for it'' the book was brilliant with great artwork and story. Phrase for Olive.
