I bought this book because my grown son went to Angkor Wat this year and Graeme Base is the writer/illustrator of several of our favorite books that we read aloud when my children were young (Animalia, The Seahorse Café). These were staples in our house. The stories were always enticing and the illustrations beautiful! Angor Wat definitely has beautiful illustrations but the story is not quite as solid as some of his other books, but still a treasure!

Another grand Graeme Base effort
One jolly romp through the jungles to a destination made of learning and understanding which means the eventual acquiring of wisdom in this case.Beautiful artwork, well taught story/lesson.Originally bought this as a reminder of our trip to Angkor Wat a couple years ago. On that trip as on others we visited a local school (actually two) and gifted each of them with a copy of Animalia the most wonderful alphabet learning book ever, it was in recent restocking of that title i found this one.

An exciting visual treat
The colorful amazing illustrations of this book make it visually exciting. The final message of creating teamwork to achieve a goal is a good message for youngsters. I thought the book was definitely a winner. But now I have to see what the grandkids say.

A wonderfully illustrated book that is short but great lesson
A wonderfully illustrated book that is short but great lesson. My 7 year old son loves it. Arrived a bit damaged (cover sleeve) but the book itself is in great condition.

I love Base's illustrations, as there is so much more to them if you spend the time to look carefully at them.

Beautiful illustrations and a lovely story.
Great for interactive bedtime stories. As with most Graeme Base books, there is so much detail in the pictures.
