A significant upgrade from the original
Unless one doesn't like the setting/flavor, this game is an improvement on the original in basically every way.The characters all get a unique ability (though some are pretty bad). The events are more interesting. The items and omens are basically the same. There are only two floors, which I don't like, but the lower floor can be entered and exited at any time, which is a big improvement. Additionally, drawing floor tiles is much better; instead of choosing the top and discarding any tiles that don't fit, there's a separate pile for each of street, building, and catacombs. The biggest improvement in my opinion is the haunts. The haunts are much more interesting and way more balanced. In the original, the traitor was almost always at a significant disadvantage, and these haunts give much more power to the traitor to compensate for being outnumbered. They're also much less ambiguous. The haunt roll itself is also handled better. Instead of rolling six dice and needing to roll higher than the amount of omens to not start the haunt, you instead roll dice equal to the number of omens and need to roll lower than a six. Both methods average to the same result, but this ensures that AT LEAST three omens, and hopefully several items and events, have been drawn by the time the haunt even has a chance to start.

If you like Betrayal and House on the Hill and you love Fantasy or Dungeons and Dragons or Forgotten Realms, this is a winner.
This is a great spin on Betrayal at House on the Hill. It is set in Dungeon and Dragons': Forgotten Realms city of Baldurs Gate with a horror twist. All of the original game's Haunts and Omens and Items and Events have either been twisted, re-worded or replaced by ones that fit a fantasy setting. The biggest difference is that you are exploring a city, not a a house. So it is set up in "2.5 layers". That is to say, before you had Main Floor, Upper Floor and Basement. Now you have City, Buildings, and Catacombs. So the way they connect is similar = door to door, but you keep three stacks of areas, and pull for a color coded door (instead of a lit window with text). This works fine with one exception - there are "wide" alleys that can connect to normal sized doors. And well, that just looks odd... but it works. There are 2 or 3 less "empty hallways" in this game tile set, so most every room has an Event, Item, or Omen. The Omens are fun, some of then quite clever or creepy. The items are very DnD, and typical of what you might find (including a humorous 10ft pole). And the Events are brutal and rewarding and entertaining as in the original game.

Best. Board Game. Ever!
The second I saw that there was a variation of Betrayal (one of mine and my wife's favorite games), we had to have it! I am SUCH a huge fan of the first one and we play D&D every week. Do you need to know anything about D&D to play this game, absolutely NOT! You can never have even heard of the D&D game before and this is STILL an amazing board game! Definitely one of the BEST BOARD GAMES! We learned it within 3 minutes of playing! Super easy to play! Hopefully they come out with even more variations. And for those of you that are D&D fans, why is bad stuff always happening to Balder's Gate? Like, at a certain point, you should move no? Seems like the worst possible city to live in the D&D cannon. It's like if you lived in New York in the MCU universe... just sayin'

Seriously cool game
This game is awesome. Heavy-duty printed cardboard tokens and room tiles, and cool plastic cast character pieces, in the shapes of the characters themselves. Game play is about an hour, a little more depending. It's super fun, especially when the haunt begins!! 2 modes of game play, starting play, and the haunt, once it's revealed. One player (usually) turns traitor, as chosen by the game guide. There are 50 different haunt scenarios, so no two games are alike for at least 50 game plays! Need at least 3 players though to play. I bought Betrayal at the House on the Hill first, and loved it so much I bought Baldur's Gate, because I used to love playing Baldur's Gate on PC. Seriously, you need to buy both of these games. You won't be sorry!! Plus, they'll make more when they know they're popular!!

Excelente juego spin of

Good condition, fantastic game
Everything delivered in perfect condition, and there are a LOT of pieces. The game is a delight, a truly different experience every time you play it. It's weird, hilarious, and is surprisingly balanced - I've not yet played a game where the traitors had an unfair advantage over the heroes, or vice versa.Definitely worth the buy.

Better the the original
This game is better than the original betrayal. The haunts are much more fun to play and less broken unlike its predecessor. If you like DnD this should definitely be a purchase. Never split the party!!
