Dyson V8 Absolute Cord-Free Stick Vacuum, Iron/Yellow (Renewed)

I don't get it Dyson, you build a great Vacuum, maybe the best yet, then you go cheap on the energy storage. Followed by a lame charger that takes an hour to charge.Your engineers followed DeWalt down the same bad path, of the DCB407. If you can discharge the vacum in 15 minutes, the beauty of Lithium Ion is that it can come back in 15 minutes,,,,,,,,,,,,,, not an HOUR.Dyson comes so close to creating something great, then falls on it's face with this Nanie battery. This battery should be twice as thick and "hot swappable".Just disappointed in Dyson engineers, more than upset.

I bought this as a replacement to our old Dyson upright that finally died after 8 years. To be clear, The V8 is fantastic for the job it is designed to do, which is NOT to replace a Dyson upright. The V8 is easier to use, on a daily basis, to clean. I get up in the morning and will use the V8 to clean up crumbs in the kitchen from the day before, vacuum an area rug, and vacuum the stairs as well as the living room on the second floor. The V8 is MUCH easier to carry around, as you would expect, than the old Dyson upright. Running in the normal mode of suction I have yet to have the battery die out...mind you the total time I spend vacuuming on a daily basis is around 10-15 minutes max.I just got done vacuuming my car floor and seats and the mini motorized tool along with the crevice tool did the job well. The mini motorized tool also does a great job getting up dog hair from the couch. I have yet to use the MAX suction setting as the normal setting works just fine. The V8 does a great job, is easy to handle, and does a fantastic job as a daily use vacuum.

I currently own a refurbished dyson ball vacuum and it's awesome. I received the product and it was "as advertised" with minimal to light wear if any. The "V8 Absolute" showed up looking like it fell down a flight of stairs. Both motorized heads were broken in the packaging. The larger hardwood floor head doesn't even have the correct mounting button making it impossible to connect. I can't believe dyson would try and sell a product of this quality in this condition for a $400+ price tag. Unacceptable

Refurbished item ran out of power after just a few minutes from day 1. Stopped working all-together after 8 months and maybe 10 times of use. Only 30 days warranty on refurbished units. Update: Dyson sent me replacement core unit for something like $100. Worked for a few months. Now shuts off after 30 seconds.Support sends advice that is unrelated to the issue. I filled out a questionnaire and described the symptoms with pictures and very detailed and they responded with "Clean the filters, here is a link how to do it" or, to add insult to the injury, "Use your 20% existing-customer-discount to purchase a new unit" or visit a repair service (40 miles away). The responses are sluggish and cut and paste. Not sure if I wasted more time or money but it was wasted. That's for sure.

I'm very glad I bought myself this Christmas gift. It's so much easier to grab for daily cleaning without the need to fuss with cords and plugs. I was shocked how amazing the powerful the suction is for a cordless vacuum. I also love how easy it is to release and empty the dirt collection container. Good selection of accessories too. I just need to figure out how to store them neatly and handy to the vacuum cleaner.

Not sure if it's the V8 or the refurbished V8, but I was only getting 4 to 5 min per full charge with the soft roller head. No good. Bought the V11, MUCH happier

Should have gotten one of these years ago. It’s unbelievable, my house is actually clean. It’s not too difficult to take it out and use it- so I do. No cord so I actually use it. You need the soft brush for hardwood floors, it does so much better than the upholstery one. You wouldn’t know this was refurbished. I could probably clean my entire 1800 soft house with this, if I felt like doing it all at once. If you put it on “Max” the batter does run down fast, but we only do that for the entry rug.

I’ve wasted so much money on cordless vacuum cleaners because I thought this brand was too expensive. I finally bought a reconditioned Dyson and I’m so glad I did. Easy to handle, carpet and regular attachments, really does an excellent job. It’s perfect for what I need. Highly recommend.
