It has steam when you press the steam button only. Its not a continuous flow.

What is the configuration of steam vents in the sole plate? How many vents?

not sure. I guess I would have to count them, but I can assure you it enough to power the iron that its supposed to work with. Our company has been using them for years. no problem

how long is the steam hose between the tank and the iron?

I did not do a measurement but I would say at least 6 ft
