I was hesitant to buy this lamp because there were only 9 reviews (albeit all 5 star reviews) at the time. However, I am happy to report that this product is indeed as good the previous reviewers said.It is sturdy, well built and relatively easy to adjust. Once in place, it stays in place. The lens is quite clear and non-distorting. There is enough difference between the various brightness settings to be meaningful. The dust cover is effective at its intended job, but also it allows me to bounce light off the wall behind my laptop, providing indirect lighting for Zoom meetings and FaceTime calls.I bought it for electronics projects, and, though I was concerned that it might not provide enough magnification, I was pleased to discover that it was perfect for this task. I also find myself using it for reading tiny print on bottles and removing small splinters.Though not warranting a lower rating, there are two things I recommend to the designers/manufacturer: (1) some kind of padding where the clamp meets furniture, and (2) the capability to vary the temperature/color of the light from warm to cool. I searched for this capability, but was unable to find a single magnifying lamp on Amazon that had both a dust cover and temperature variability. I provided my own padding, and discovered that, for my purposes, variable temperature was unnecessary.

I am a professional watchmaker who uses a microscope at my watch bench. I am learning electronics and needed something at my "lab". THIS lamp provides an excellent working distance for a soldering iron and the image through the GLASS lens is perfectly flat, no distortion off to the sides.Table clamp is hefty and the lamp even stays in position.Do not bother with the cheaper ones. Just creates more carbon when they have to be returned.I tried the $50 one with the plastic lens. It was not worth it.

I’m very pleased with the quality and value of this magnifier light. The weight of the base is about as much as the entire light it’s replacing. This is one of the times I paid twice as much and received ten times the product. The long reach is great for my shop and it’s super stable. Four levels of illumination as promised. The light color is not adjustable.

Exactly what I needed for 90% of my shop work. Medium magnification and the adjustable intensity LED ring light is a great improvement from the circular florescent tube in my old one. I use a head mounted flip down magnifier if I need a little more power. I’ll order a second one for my other workbench soon.

I have installed 3 of these in a production manufacturing environment.they work better than many we have that are 5 times the cost
