Very lightweight and looks good. The wood is a bit rough at the handle but I don't believe you would get splinters from it as some other reviewers have said. However, if you are going to use a paddle often or as the main propulsion for your boat then you may want to look elsewhere. I have these paddles as backup for the motor on our Jon boat. For the price, you get what you pay for.
