Yes, that's what I used them on, an old 2x5 10 speed. Actually these will work on anything.

Q: will it fit 1" handlebars

They have a good amount of adjustment for the diameter, but I have not specifically measured. I would be very surprised if they did not.

Q: What does friction mean as it pertains to these shifter? Do they click or simoly move a stay in place?

They do not click. They have a smooth tange, friction of the mechanism holds the cable and gear derailer positions. I put these on an old bike to ride around in town. Work great.

Q: Does the SunRace SLM10 friction shifter set come with cables and Housing?

Yes. It does come with both cables and housings however, it does not come with the crimp-on ends that keep the cable from fraying. I went to a local bicycle shop and they just gave me a couple, no charge. For a cheap shifter, they work pretty well. We will see how long they hold up.
