Very easy install
I cannot vouch for actual performance as I just installed it today but I wanted to write a review possibly helping others. Many of the reviews here mention how difficult it was, how tight the fit was and even having to cut plastic for fitment. I can say only 2016 yamaha Viking if fit perfect, was not difficult to install and start to finish , including removal of the middle seat, the entire job was about 15 minutes . Now I did use a 1/4 inch impact driver for seat removal so if you do not have one it may add a few minutes to the job.

Great upgrade but fit was slightly loose on my 2014 viking
I think this is going to be a far superior upgrade to the foam/oil coated filter that the OEM used. My application was slightly loose so I added a 1/8 inch hard foam spacer between the filter and the locking plate (the plate that has to be reused to make this work)./ Just cut the spacer the same oval shape to match the closed end of the filter and sandwiched it between the wedge locking plate and the closed end of the filter. The foam was able to compress during the tightest part of the installation and keeps the filter pushed up against the inlet side of the air box once it was in place.

If you’re reading this review, buy it. The stock air filter is questionable. I’ve always been anti k&n (douche life), but in this case it’s superior to factory simply due to fit (I can’t believe Yamaha let this critical factor be so honked up). Even if you don’t buy this, check your filter, you’ll be glad you did

K&N makes Quality air filters.
I have been using K&N air filters and Ram Air systems for over 25 years. They perform as advertised. THey last for 1,000,000 miles. Some reviewers favor foam filters for UTVs. I have both, and the K&N air filters do improve performance when used with a performance exhaust and a controller to adjust the AFRatio. I also am not a sand dunes rider and I do my best to minimize dusty rides.

Satisfied with product
Easy to install and no more foam filter to deteriorate like my old one. I used a light weight oil lubricant to cover it first ( not WD-40)
