These are some of the very important historical evidences of M K Gandhi’s famous and world renowned ideologies which every citizen of the world should be abreast with for a better life and which are also a part and parcel of his anti-British and Indian Independence movement during his times.

This book is really awesome.Basically we r Indians nd love to read indian books rather than us ones or others.Really looking for more Indian books.Thanz AMAZON,it will be less though I say thanx to Amazon.Your name should be AMAZE...ON. I don't believe I have read anything else by Manages Gandhi. While I enjoyed this I am not sure I enjoyed it enough to recommend to others. Probably the translation.

This was a long earmarked book. I spent about 2 hours reading this short book. The essays or articles are Gandhi's viewpoints and /or sometimes a response . Swadeshi and Ahimsa were both interesting reads . would like to venture more info his books. His concepts and observations are ungodly still applicable today

great and quick book to read to learn more about what Gandhi thought on particular issues. This is not good for overall philosophy. Did not have a problem with his non-US-American use of language.

small kinda stories delineates the situation in that era. this is the second book I read from the author, as usual the writing style is simple yet effective.

It pertains to Bapu's essays/speeches around the year 2017,nothing seems to have changed except that 3rd class itself has been abolished and condition of 2nd class which has taken its place ,sometimes is worse than what Bapu has described. Contrary to Bapu's advice, Netas and influential people still prefer travelling by Air or AC first class,and middle class by AC 2nd or AC 3rd , still lower class by 2nd sleeper,and poor majority by 2nd unreserved class, it looks things are not going to change even in near future.Cleanliness is missing,the served food is often non edible and very costly.Even in AC class toilets do not have water and are hardly cleaned.The railway stations ,railway lines and waiting rooms are as dirty as possible.Situation is not much different from what you have described-you have missed thefts ,accidents and beggars which have only increased.Similarly nothing has happened on Ahimsa , Swadeshi and national language and dress code fronts.Your views are as valid as they were 96 years ago.

Ghandi offers the logic and thought processes behind his experiences fighting colonial rule. This shows how he was not on a mission of fairness but one of the logical survival and elevation of a repressed nation. Good stuff for the potential conscientious objector.

A good portrait of life in India at the time. Not much had changed when I was there in the early 1980's!

This was free when I found it and is one of the best things I have read. It is a very well written, would you expect anything else, about the state of travel in 3rd class. If you want a good read buy this.

Wer schon in Indien im Zug gefahren ist, wird mit großer Freude die Passgen lesen, in denen M. Ghandi anklagend vom Leder zieht. Seitdem ist viel Zeit vergangen und der technische Fortschritt war in den meisten Teilen der Welt - insbesondere Indien - gewaltig. Doch um die dritte Klasse in einem indischen Zug hat der Fortschritt einen riesigen Bogen gemacht. Die Worte von M. Ghandi könnten auch gestern geschrieben worden sein. Dafür fünf Sterne. Die anderen Seiten haben mir keine Erkenntnisse beschert.

I wanted to know about Gandhiji's way of thinking. When I read this book I understood why he was called "Mahatma". His way of thinking and writing is just fabulous. He always thinks about the people, their welfare and development. Loved this one. It motivated me to read the longer one-150 pages "Indian Home Rule" by Mahatma Gandhi.

I know little of Gandhi, and did not know if I was to read a metaphorical analysis of the world as a third class railway carriage (and why not?, stranger metaphors have been chosen), or an essay upon the Indian railway system itself. It turned out to be the latter, and very interesting it was. Read this for an insight into the future of Britain's railway system if we continue to put corporate profit before public service. And not just the railway system. Read the other short essays too. After I read them I felt that, despite my great ignorance, I knew Gandhi, as a person, just a little bit better.
