Love it! Very helpful with identification!

There have been several books on butterflies in the Ontario region. This is by far the most comprehensive and detailed.

I am so excited to have received this book for Christmas. It is EXACTLY what I was looking for. I wanted a book specific to Ontario's butterflies but I wanted it to include the caterpillars. (Other books seem to do this separately which makes absolutely no sense). Each butterfly has several photos, some with wings open or closed, some in different stages of the season - where there is a noticeable difference in the pattern/colour. Arrows point to key areas in the picture to highlight distinguishing features and they are described in the text on the page. I can't wait until the spring to start identifying these butterflies in my butterfly garden.Only disappointment was the bottom of the spine was slightly crunched/torn when it arrived.

I have glaucoma and have had cater act surgery. I have trouble seeing and reading the small type. I would have preferred a larger font even if I had to pay more for a slightly bigger format. It is probably a great reference book, but it is difficult for me to read.

Very good book! It is easy to use and very interesting. I will be using this to identify the butterflies that come around. There are comparative plates at the beginning of the book which are very useful. Looking forward to using it more!

I love the detail about the butterflies native to where I live. So much better than the general books. I agree with the comment about better binding and that is the only reason I don't give it 5 stars.

This is an excellent guide to all the butterflies found in Ontario, and also shows the caterpillars. This makes it easy for me to identify my photos.
