Tassyam Hingwale Asafetida 8.8 oz (250g) Kadak Kandhari Hing | Hand Pounded & Natural | Onion Garlic Substitute

I don’t use hing very often but I do like to add it to my dishes when I cook Indian. Just a pinch is enough to bring out the true Indian flavour. By far the best hing available in the market both in flavour and value.

I use asafetida as a replacement for the flavor of garlic/onions since I issues digesting them. The spice does a great job of standing in for both, and this is by far the largest quantity at the best price I've seen on Amazon so far. Only word of warning: definitely add sparingly. The flavor is very strong and hard to mellow if you accidentally overdo it. Overall though, a great deal for a spice you definitely won't find many other places!

I bought this after seeing rave reviews, but I was highly disappointed after using this. My first doubt was after receiving the packet because I did not get a faint smell of Asafetida and that is highly unsusal. No matter how you pack, smell of Asafetida will reek out of pack. Anyways, first I tried small quantity like half tea spoon during cooking. No smell , no taste. Then I tried 1 teaspoon, 1 tablespoon, 2 tablespoons, to my disappointment, no taste, no smell. I chew one tiny bit of raw particle then I got slight taste. So in conclusion, it is highly highly diluted and just a hint of spice added to gum arabica.People who have used pure Asafetida, know that a size of 1/4 pea can ruin the dish with strong flavor. This is just waste of money and Amazon doesn't have policy to return this.Stay away from this product. Better you buy some brands like LG etc available in local indian store. This is the worst asafetida I ever bought.

The Hing wasn't my taste, but the packaging is why this review is so bad. It smelled strongly of chemicals and the plastic was very thin and almost powdery? The bottle it came in smelled almost like something you'd use to poison rats. I hadn't purchased Hing or asafetida before and I wanted to try using it. I didn't care for it. It has a onion garlic flavor, but the after taste was really off putting to me. I wonder if is the bottle that is making the off putting taste. I would recommend purchasing from a different seller.

Being more affordable, I use this variety for cooking and their kabuli hing for tadka

Taste like dirt and I love garlic & onions and Indian food. I tried it twice and in the garbage. I think I got a bad batch.

Man kann das paket gar nicht zurückschicken auch wenn man das paket nicht geöffnet hat. Ich habe erst später erfahren, dass die beschreibung nicht übereinstimmt mit dem produktinhalt. Ist es denn so schwer die wahrheit zu sagen?
